The awaited announcement of the Unified National Contest is about to be released, bringing with it the expectation of vacancies at the National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples (Funai). It is expected to be published on December 20th, as announced in this week’s official schedule.
Founded by Law No. 5,371 in 1967, Funai is completing 56 years with a fundamental role in the protection of indigenous lands, in the coordination of policies for isolated peoples, and in the development of sustainabletable of these communities. Its actions are based on respect for the culture and traditions of indigenous peoples, seeking to ensure their autonomy and self-determination.

The application of the tests is scheduled for May 5, 2024. The 502 authorized vacancies are part of the thematic blocks “5. Social Policies, Justice, and Health” and “8. Intermediate Level”.
It is important to note that the contest already had a specific committee for the preparation of the Basic Project, which previously detailed the stages of the tests, the application locations, and the estimated number of candidates.
