Ministers and Secretaries Comment on Unified Public Competition
According to Minister Esther Dweck, in an interview with columnist Mônica Bergamo from the newspaper Folha de São Paulo on Thursday (24), it is a process of democratization of access to become a public servant, also in the sense that there is a resumption of the hiring process for the sector, reinforcing the strengthening of the Brazilian State.
According to José Celso Cardoso Jr, Secretary of People Management at MGI, specialized studies indicate that this unified format of exams, as opposed to those that plan to assess knowledge, from the outset, very specialized, has been able to better select future public servants, bringing to the State’s framework individuals who are generally honest and committed to the public sphere and the achievements of the administration.
Structure of the Unified Public Competition
For Cardoso Jr, this project is innovative and bold. Thus, a criterion of fairness in access to public vacancies has been developed like never before in the history of the country.
The unified public competition will be organized through a General Coordination composed of the Ministry of Management and Innovation (MGI), the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP), the National School of Public Administration (ENAP), the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA), and the Attorney General’s Office (AGU).
This arrangement also provides for the active participation of the sectoral committees from each of the involved agencies, whose representatives will form the Advisory or Deliberative Committee. By mid-September of this year, the Ministry of Management and Innovation is expected to publish the official act that will define the governance structure of the Unified Public Competition.
It is worth noting that the exams will be held simultaneously in 179 cities, covering all regions of Brazil, with the North region accounting for 39 cities, Northeast with 50, Southeast with 49, Midwest with 18, and South with 23.
