Good news for those looking for stability and a fixed salary: the Government of Espírito Santo has just announced a public competition with 600 vacancies for the position of penal officer, a role previously known as prison agent. And the best part: it requires only a complete high school education and offers an initial salary of R$ 4,715, including base salary and R$ 600 for food allowance.

The work schedule is 40 hours a week, and the minimum requirement is to have completed high school and possess a Type B driver’s license or higher. The role will focus on the prison system of Espírito Santo, ensuring safety and monitoring of inmates in the state’s prisons.

Public Competition Strengthens Security and Generates Jobs with Stability

The new selection aims to reinforce the staff of the State Secretariat of Justice (Sejus), which faces a shortage of staff in the prison units. According to the Sindicato dos Policiais Penais do Espírito Santo (Sindppenal), ideally, between 1,200 and 1,500 new agents should be hired, indicating that the new batch of 600 vacancies could be just the beginning of something larger.
