The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) introduced considerable changes to the rules for retirement by age. The focus of these changes is to better address the current demographic demands of Brazil.

Among the main changes is the introduction of the 86/96 formula, which eliminates the minimum age requirement for retirement for women who have contributed for 30 years and men who have contributed for 35 years.

With this modification, there is now greater flexibility for those workers who wish to retire based on their accumulated contribution time.

Another change was the adjustment of the minimum ages required for retirement. With this, they now progressively increase by six months each year.

With this change, experts say, there is a smoother transition for future retirees. In practice, this allows them to better plan for the rules of the new retirement.

Specific adjustments have also been made for those individuals who were already in the labor market before the implementation of the Pension Reform.

For example, the options for a 50% and 100% toll on the time remaining until retirement have been relaxed, focusing on individually adapting each worker’s retirement plans.

Where Can I Find More Information About the New Guidelines of the INSS?

Often, we are bombarded with false news, the famous fake news. In addition to Click Oil and Gas, there are official websites that help those interested understand better the new guidelines and how to evaluate their impact on retirement decisions.

In this sense, it is recommended that interested individuals visit the official INSS website or follow trustworthy platforms that regularly update information about social security. Additionally, participating in forums and communities can be an excellent strategy for exchanging experiences and advice.

For experts, these changes indicate the government’s concern to balance the sustainability of the pension system with social justice. This is because there is a need to adapt the system to ensure that it can continue to provide adequate support to a population that is increasingly aging.

For this reason, it is important to deeply understand these changes, not only to better prepare individuals for the future but also to ensure that the decisions made are aligned with best practices and the most recent standards.
