Ranking Of The Safest Cities And Yearbook Criteria
The City Hall maintains that Joinville has advanced positions in the ranking and attributes the result to integrated public safety actions.
In the statement, the administration highlights that MySide’s survey relies on official data to compose the lethal violence indicator.

MySide also publishes an overall ranking of the 30 safest cities in Brazil, where the top spots are held by smaller municipalities in Santa Catarina, such as Brusque, Jaraguá do Sul, and Tubarão.
Therefore, Joinville gains more prominence when the analysis is made by population range, as in the classification mentioned by the City Hall.
