About the New Investments Made by Countries
When asked about potential investments to be made by India and China in the coming years, something that could reach 20 billion liters, the vice president emphasized the quality of the product produced by Brazil. ” It is important to highlight the enormous differentiators of our ethanol. Currently, it is the best global solution to displace fossil fuel consumption, both economically and environmentally,’’ he highlighted.
The Contribution that Brazilian Ethanol Adds to Global Environmental Health
Given the need for renewable fuels, Quenn spoke about the properties of Brazilian ethanol, which has better results than other fuels around the world. ‘’ Brazilian ethanol emits CO2 about 4.5 times less than gasoline in the United States. And the hybrid vehicle, which is commercially available in Brazil, is today the one with the lowest emissions, even compared to global EV alternatives,’’ he reported.

How Raízen Has Prepared to Meet the Use of Ethanol in Other Production Sectors
In addition to using ethanol for fuel production, the product has been utilized to serve other productions, which has led to even greater preparation by the company. “From Raízen’s perspective, the challenge will be very significant, as we observe not only the increase in global demand for adding ethanol to gasoline but also a growing demand for using ethanol for other purposes, such as green plastic, SAF (Sustainable aviation fuel) and others,”
Data on Ethanol Production in Brazil
According to data released by the National Supply Company (Conab), in the 2019/2020 crop, the country set a record for ethanol production, reaching the mark of 35.6 billion liters of the product.
Finally, in light of all this demand in sight, the executive further stated that the company has been preparing by investing in technology qualification to keep up with this growth. “We believe that technology will help significantly. Today, Raízen has second-generation ethanol (E2G) technology, which has the potential to increase current production in Brazil by approximately 50%. This technology can also be used with other types of biomass. We believe that this type of solution will be an important pillar of the global solution to meet this growing demand,” he said.
