During the Holiday Period, Foz Tintas Launches a Special Color Catalog Inspired by Shelter Dogs, Combining Awareness, Encouragement to Adopt, and Direct Support to Animal Protectors.

Right from the start, the Pet Colors campaign, created by Foz Tintas, emerges as an awareness initiative against animal abandonment during the holidays, a period that historically registers a significant increase in such cases. Moreover, the action highlights the diversity of mixed-breed dogs and cats in Brazilian shelters while directing financial and material resources to NGOs and independent protectors.

Additionally, the commemorative catalog of Foz Tintas’ 40 years, founded in 1985, features 16 dogs available for adoption, whose coats inspired exclusive paint colors. Thus, names like caramel, black, ginger, chocolate, and marbled become more than just descriptions and represent real shades, imbued with social meaning.

In this context, the campaign gains further relevance by considering recent data. According to research by Quest, released in recent years, mixed-breed dogs account for more than 30% of domestic animals in Brazil. At the same time, it is estimated that about 170,000 animals are currently under the care of protectors, a number that increases precisely during the holiday months.

On the other hand, color still directly influences adoption. Both caramel dogs and animals with black coats continue to be among the least chosen by adopters in the country. In light of this, animal protection organizations in western Paraná actively participated in selecting the pets that are part of the Pet Colors catalog, giving visibility to animals that have been waiting for a home for a longer time.

According to Daniele Canfil, Trade Marketing Coordinator at Foz Tintas, the central proposal of the campaign is to raise awareness about animal welfare and the pets that have experienced abandonment. She states that all the dogs in the catalog are vaccinated, neutered, and ready for adoption, awaiting a second chance.

Besides raising awareness, the initiative generates direct financial impact. For each liter of paint sold from the Pet Colors catalog, R$ 1 is allocated to participating NGOs, an amount that is also reverted into donation of paints and materials. As explained by Alex Camatti, CEO of Foz Tintas, the action reflects practices that the company adopts daily, especially in support of social causes related to animal welfare.

Meanwhile, real stories reinforce the importance of the campaign. Zenita, for example, was abandoned after her owner passed away and was rescued in a severe condition. According to Alini Sartori from Ampare Animal, the dog underwent complete treatment, including chemotherapy, and is now healthy and ready for adoption.

Similarly, Luna and Flora, rescued in Cascavel after a hoarding case involving 44 animals, also became symbols of the catalog. Julia Dorini from Viva Instituto Animal reports that the recent rescue was one of the most impactful of her journey as a protector.

At the same time, the campaign launch period was strategically chosen. During the holidays, many families take the opportunity to renovate their homes, while others, unfortunately, choose to abandon their pets. Thus, the campaign connects home renovation with affective responsibility, reinforcing the concept of a multispecies family.

In addition, the campaign offers color customization, allowing consumers to send a photo of their own pet to create an exclusive shade. The paint base uses “matte always clean” technology from Suvinil, developed to facilitate the cleaning of walls, especially in homes with children and pets.

Finally, animal abandonment is a crime in Brazil, with a penalty of two to five years in prison, in addition to fines and loss of custody. As highlighted by Bia Oliveira from ONG Latidos do Bem, initiatives like this strengthen both the animals and the protectors, who are often overwhelmed.

Thus, by combining conscious consumption, information, and solidarity, the Pet Colors campaign transforms color into action and reinforces that adopting is an act of continuous responsibility. After all, renovating the home can also mean renewing lives.
