CSN Mineração S.A is the second largest exporter of iron ore in the country and is among the five most competitive in the transoceanic market. With certified reserves of over 3 billion tons according to the Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC), the company operates the Casa de Pedra and Engenho mines, the Pires beneficiation complex, has shares in the MRS railway, and a captive terminal for the export of iron ore at the Port of Itaguaí.
