Without relying on an outlet, without a cable, and without the gasoline engine driving the wheels: Nissan created the Note e-POWER, a hatchback that always runs on an electric motor while a combustion engine works only as a generator, delivering to Japan a type of “electric without recharging” that Brazil is almost unfamiliar with.
Inspired by the C-Note concept revealed in 2003, the Nissan Tiida was launched in the Brazilian market in the first half of 2007. In 2009, this setup became flex-fuel and had its power slightly increased. 2010 marked the first and only redesign of the Nissan sedan, which ceased to be sold in Brazil in July 2013, amid a segment that was already showing signs of weakening.

The Brazilian automotive market has only seen the first generation of the Nissan Tiida. Since 2015, however, the model is in its third generation. In European markets, it is sold as Pulsar. Meanwhile, in countries like China and Russia, it is sold as Tiida.
The only difference is that the economical sedan became flex-fuel in 2009. But performance did not change much, and the 126 hp with ethanol and 125 hp with gasoline deliver competent acceleration, while the manual gearbox has well-spaced ratios, along with a great sixth gear that acts as overdrive. The Nissan sedan goes from 0 to 100 km/h in under 10 seconds.
With a four-speed automatic transmission, the scenario changes. The transmission offers comfort but lacks precision, especially at mid-range RPMs, where it can be a bit hesitant about which gear to engage. Performance, although not the strong point of the economical sedan, delivers good averages:
- City consumption ethanol: 7km/l;
- City consumption gasoline: 10.5km/l;
- Highway consumption ethanol: 8.7km/l;
- Highway consumption gasoline: 12.9km/l.

One of the major highlights of the Nissan sedan is the optimized cabin, which provides a good driving position and a sliding rear seat, comfortably accommodating two adults and a child.
The feeling of space is enhanced by the high ceiling, while the trunk, with a capacity of 289 liters (when the rear seat is all the way forward), offers a reasonable amount of space for a car in this category. The interior finish is simple but well-built, with proper closures indicating the vehicle’s quality.
When buying your used Tiida, it is essential to be aware of some recurring problems. One of the most common issues is related to the steering box, which can exhibit play and excessive vibrations. Additionally, check the attachment of external parts, particularly the rear deflector, as the mounting nuts may lose grip over time.
