DAH Solar Announces Ambitious Plans to Enter the Brazilian Energy Market in 2024. The Initiative by the Chinese Giant Promises to Generate Thousands of Jobs and Transform the Sector in the Country.
DAH Solar, a giant Chinese solar panel company, is forecasting an increase of nearly 80% in its exports to Brazil this year. About 1.46 million solar energy equipment is expected to be sold in 2024, a record high, compared to 820,000 in the previous year. In this article, we will delve into the market that promises to generate thousands of jobs with the arrival of DAH Solar.
Understand Why DAH Solar Plans to Invest in Brazil
In the first quarter of this year, equipment sales reached 881,000 solar panels, surpassing the entire volume of 2023. With an eye on the positive turnaround in the solar energy market, DAH Solar is about to open a branch in the country, with facilities already set up in Campinas (SP), generating thousands of jobs. The
company is just waiting for the final procedures to open its CNPJ, which will be announced by the end of the year. Since it began exporting its products to the Brazilian solar energy market in 2019, the Chinese company has supplied a total of 6 million photovoltaic panels, which amount to three gigawatts (GW) in energy generation.

It is worth mentioning that DAH Solar recently showcased its fullscreen color modules that have been globally recognized during the three days of Intersolar South America. One example is the BIPV project (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) of 466 kW, currently under development in China.
According to Felipe Santos, LATAM commercial director, the colored modules have the main goal of integrating with buildings so that energy generation can occur in places with unique architecture and different settings, allowing for greater usability.
The Brazilian Solar Energy Market Continues to Grow and Generate Jobs
DAH Solar’s decision comes after generation in Brazil surpassed 20% of the national electricity matrix, with over 48 GW of power in operation, combining large power plants and micro and mini-distributed generation systems.
The data is part of a new monthly report from the Brazilian Solar Photovoltaic Energy Association (ABSOLAR), recently released. The figures reported by the association were updated until October 9.
According to the association, the solar energy market generates jobs and has long been the second source with the highest percentage of participation in the electricity matrix, second only to hydropower generation, which holds 46% of all operational volume.
Only this year, the share of solar energy in the Brazilian electricity matrix has risen from 16.5% in January to the current 20.2%. This growth has also distanced the source from wind farms, which have grown by 0.7% so far in 2024.
