Trade Mission Is An Initiative Of Business Finland And Has The Support Of Abragames
Brazilians from 15 game development companies, from six states of the country (AM, PR, RJ, SP, RS, and the Federal District), are visiting Finland, one of the reference countries in the world when it comes to technology and innovation, with the mission of creating new business opportunities between the two countries in the gaming area. The Finnish gaming industry is among the five largest in Europe and is a leading mobile developer.
The group of businesspeople arrives in the Nordic country on the 29th and is already visiting Finnish studios. On the 30th, at the headquarters of Business Finland, an organization for innovation financing and promotion of trade, travel, and investments of the Finnish government, in Helsinki, the Brazilians participate in lectures to learn about the Finnish market and the cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
“The visit of Brazilian game studios to Finland plays a crucial role in integrating the ecosystems of both countries, taking advantage of the vast possibilities for collaboration and synergy. Finland represents a solidly established gaming industry, especially in the mobile gaming segment, which seeks to reinvent and innovate, while Brazil has gained prominence in recent years as a producer and consumer in this segment. The union of these two scenarios offers a unique opportunity for the global gaming market”, says Alessandra Leone, Talent Manager at Work in Finland, a unit of Business Finland.

Eliana Russi, director of the Brazilian Association of Digital Game Developers (Abragames), which was created in 2004 to strengthen the national game development industry, emphasizes that “this meeting will be fundamental for new partnerships in the gaming industry between the two countries”.
Opportunities
This is the first time that Brazilian businesspeople will have the opportunity to get to know and closely follow the ecosystem of the gaming industry in Finland, which is also in search of new talents. “Anyone thinking of investing in this segment and looking for more quality of life and opportunities, Finland has business and career opportunities for Brazilian companies and talents who want to live in the happiest country in the world”, emphasizes Alessandra.
The CEO of Druzina Content, a producer of games, series, and films based in Porto Alegre, can’t wait to embark on this experience. “We are investing in the mobile gaming sector for our next launches and know that Finland is one of the most active and fastest-growing hubs in the electronic gaming industry in the world. We believe this visit could promote collaboration opportunities and open up new business avenues”, says Luciana Druzina.
Danilo Neves de Martins, founder and Business Director of Lab Secreto, from Rio de Janeiro, which represents eight game studios in various regions of the country, believes that closer contact with studios that are world references like Rovio, Supercell, and Fingersoft can yield many fruits. “Unlike a large convention environment, where everything is very rushed, we will have more tranquility to get to know people and understand the points of synergy”, he says.
At the invitation of Business Finland, representatives from the Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (ApexBrasil), São Paulo Development Agency, SP Negócios, Invest São Paulo, and Spcine, a public company of support for audiovisual linked to the Municipal Secretary of Culture, will also join the mission in search of opportunities for the gaming market.
Gaming Market
Games developed in Brazil have been gaining recognition abroad. The country moves about R$ 12 billion a year in the gaming market, being the leader in revenue in Latin America. According to Abragames, the country already gathers more than a thousand game development companies.
On the other hand, Finland is now one of the five largest game developers in Europe, bringing together globally known studios. The global gaming industry worldwide, in turn, generated US$ 196.8 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach US$ 321 billion by 2026.
