DOF Reported Yesterday That Equinor Intends to Extend the Contract Period From Six Months to Two Years
The Norwegian company DOF has secured an extension of the contract for one of its vessels with the oil multinational Equinor. DOF stated on Thursday that Equinor has declared an option to extend the contract period for the Skandi Veja vessel from six months to two years. Under this extension, the vessel will be secured until May 2022, DOF said.

The Skandi Vega has been continuously working with Equinor since 2010. The previous six-month extension was agreed upon in October 2019.
DOF ASA’s CEO, Mons S. Aase, said: “DOF is very pleased to further strengthen the relationship with Equinor and secure a firm order book.”

The Skandi Vega is an anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) built in 2010. It was designed for anchor handling in deep waters under demanding environmental conditions.
The vessel is 109 meters long, with a working moonpool, a working deck area of 1,070 square meters, an anchor recovery structure, a main winch with a capacity of 500 tons, a secondary winch of 170 tons, and a mooring pull of 350 tons.
