Sorocaba, From the Duo with Fernando, Transforms Passion for Horses into a Million-Dollar Empire by Investing in Genetics, Auctions, and Quarter Horse Breeding
Sorocaba’s career has gone beyond the stages. A musical partner of Fernando, the singer decided to invest in a completely different yet equally lucrative segment: the elite horse market. Owner of farms in Jaguariúna, in the state of São Paulo, he organizes auctions that involve impressive figures — just in 2024, sales totaled over R$ 35 million.
Consolidated Business and Cutting-Edge Genetics
Recognized for his entrepreneurial vision, Sorocaba has become a respected name in agribusiness as well. His focus is the Quarter Horse breed, considered one of the most valuable in the world.
Haras Rancho das Américas, managed by the singer, has become a reference in horse breeding and reproduction, combining family tradition and cutting-edge technology.

Iran became the largest buyer of Brazilian corn with 9.1 million tons, but the cargo leaves the field heading towards a global tension zone: sanctions, military risk in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and dependence on fertilizers turn the giant client of the national agribusiness into an alert for the next harvest.

Saudi Arabia bought nearly 397,000 tons of Brazilian chicken, but now wants to create a poultry empire in the desert: the self-sufficiency plan targets local production, threatens shipments from BRF, JBS, and Seara, and raises an alert for Brazil in the halal market until 2030.

War in Iran raises fertilizer prices, triggers alert in Brazilian agribusiness, and leads the government to seek new suppliers to avoid impacts on the harvest.

Soybeans plummet in Chicago with favorable weather in the United States, and Brazilian producers hold off sales due to price pressure and lack of market response.
In addition, the artist transformed one of his properties into a specialized genetic center. “The ranch is aimed at breeding, regardless of the breed, but the highlight is the Quarter Horse,” the singer stated in an interview with journalist André Piunti.
This strategy has broadened the recognition of the stud farm and consolidated Sorocaba as one of the main investors in the sector.
Elite Horses: Remarkable Results and Million-Dollar Auctions
The ranch houses various breeds, such as Arabs, Mangalarga, and Lusitano. Still, the Quarter Horse draws the attention and revenue.
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), Brazil had, in 2022, a herd of 648,452 registered horses of this breed — a reflection of the growth of this niche.
In partnership with Criar Leilões, led by Daniel Roberto, the singer sold 43 animals in a single event, raising R$ 1.850 million.
The average was R$ 43 thousand per horse. Although Sorocaba has been active in this market since 2018, the total value of his profits has not yet been disclosed.
Imported Horse and Valuable Coverings
Even with a busy concert schedule, the country singer remains dedicated to the animals. To start the stud farm, he imported the stallion Chico Whiz, also of the Quarter Horse breed, from the United States to Brazil.
The transportation of the animal cost about US$ 10 thousand, equivalent to R$ 53 thousand.
The bet paid off. The horse has already accumulated US$ 80 thousand in prizes — approximately R$ 425 thousand. The semen from Chico Whiz can cost R$ 2 thousand per dose, while each covering is negotiated for amounts close to R$ 10 thousand.
