Ducati Hypermotard 698 Arrives in Brazil: The Most Powerful Single-Cylinder Motorcycle in the World Has Only 100 Units Available for Sale in 2025. Learn All About the Italian Model
Ducati surprised its enthusiasts in 2023 by presenting the Superquadro Mono, a completely new engine that reinforces the Italian brand’s commitment to innovation and extreme performance. As the name suggests, this is a single-cylinder engine with a super-square configuration, meaning the piston diameter is larger than the stroke— a feature that favors high RPMs and quick responses, common in competition engines. The debut of the Superquadro Mono occurred at the end of 2023 with the launch of the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono, a supermoto-style bike that combines lightness, agility, and outstanding performance in urban use and closed tracks.
More than a year after its international reveal, Ducati finally confirmed the arrival of the model in the Brazilian market, celebrating a new chapter in its line of products aimed at motorcyclists seeking a radical and purist riding experience.
This new engine was developed based on Ducati’s experience in championships like WorldSBK, utilizing technologies derived from the Panigale 1299 but adapted for a compact and lighter block. The result was a 659 cc single-cylinder engine capable of delivering an impressive 77.5 horsepower at 9,750 rpm with a sports exhaust and 63 hp with a homologated exhaust, making it the most powerful single-cylinder engine ever produced in series in the world.

With this launch, Ducati strongly enters a segment previously dominated by lower-performance motorcycles, raising the standard for sporty single-cylinders and offering the Brazilian public a model with advanced electronics, including traction control, bidirectional quickshifter, cornering ABS, and configurable riding modes — technologies usually restricted to high-displacement motorcycles.
Ducati Hypermotard 698 Stands Out for Its Unique Design
Like every vehicle from the brand, the Ducati Hypermotard 698 features great style and sportiness, with a design that draws a lot of attention, especially in its RVE version, which stands out for its unique graphics and the standard bidirectional quickshifter that offers precise gear shifts in both acceleration and deceleration in curves.
The bad news is that the model arrives here with only 100 units and in the RVE configuration, the most complete offered globally. Even though it’s not a motorcycle for those who want to go unnoticed, the first challenge comes before even twisting the throttle: the seat height, at 90.4 cm from the ground, is serious business.
The seat is narrow, flat, and high, as is customary in off-road motorcycles, requiring attention from those who are shorter. In key measurements, the most powerful single-cylinder motorcycle in the world weighs 151 kg without fuel, with 48.5% of that weight on the front wheel. The fuel tank has a capacity of 12 liters of gasoline, and its wheelbase reaches 1,443 mm. The front wheel’s caster angle is 26.1°.
Ducati Motorcycle Delivers Up to 84 Hp
The star of the show is the Superquadro Mono engine, based on the Superquadro from the Panigale 1299, retaining details like titanium intake valves and the combustion chamber shape, but with only one cylinder. It features a 116 mm cylinder diameter and a 62.4 mm stroke.
The engine of the Ducati Hypermotard 698 delivers a maximum power of 77.5 hp peaking at 9,750 rpm and can reach 10,250 rpm. For those opting for the optional Termignoni exhaust, the numbers reach 84 hp and 6.8 kgfm. The power is sent to a 6-speed mechanical gearbox via a slipper clutch with hydraulic assistance. The transmission is by chain.
To stop the most powerful single-cylinder motorcycle in the world, the brand opted for a front disc with a 330 mm diameter with Brembo M4.32 calipers. The rear, also Brembo, has a diameter of 245 mm.
Vehicle Availability in the Brazilian Market
In terms of electronics, the motorcycle features a 3.8-inch LCD display panel with a black background for high contrast, emergency brake signaling, a lighter lithium-ion battery, cornering ABS, electronic engine brake control, traction control, launch control, wheelie control, among others. There are 4 available riding modes: Sport, Road, Urban, and Wet.
The Italian brand’s novelty is already available at all Ducati stores in Brazil for immediate delivery. However, only 100 units will be sold in 2025.
According to Alexandre Ruiz, head of sales and marketing for the brand in Brazil, the idea of bringing in another batch next year has not been completely ruled out. The announced price of the most powerful single-cylinder motorcycle in the world is R$ 94,990.
