The Concrete Central for the Concreting of the Construction Project is Already Completed and Will Undergo Testing Phase. Eletronuclear is Now Investing in the Acceleration of the Resumption of Angra 3 to Ensure More Energy Security in the Rio de Janeiro Region.
The quest for the return of nuclear energy and the utilization of plants in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, continues full steam ahead. The company Eletronuclear launched a new episode of the documentary series “Angra 3 Tá ON”. In it, the company shares new details about the progress of the construction project for the resumption of Angra 3. Angra 3 Resumption Project is Advancing and Eletronuclear is Preparing to Start the Concreting Phase Soon
Eletronuclear is finalizing all preparations for the resumption of the Angra 3 construction project with the start of the concreting phase in the coming months.
The company released a video from the documentary series Angra 3 Tá On and revealed the progress of the energy production project located in Rio de Janeiro.

The current moment is focused on the completion of the Concrete Central, which is already ready but still needs to undergo commissioning and testing phases for final quality verification.
Once this stage is completed, the concrete produced on-site can be poured, marking the resumption of the construction.
This way, the company can initiate the concreting phase, the final stage of constructing structural elements in a project.
This consists of pouring concrete over the building structure (slabs, beams, and columns, for example), until it cures, thus ensuring the entire base for the continuation of the construction project.
Eletronuclear is then looking to finalize this stage to accelerate all subsequent phases until the project’s completion.
Angra 3 Will Generate More Than 12 Million Megawatts per Year After Construction Completion
The Eletronuclear construction project for the resumption of Angra 3 in the coming years aims to ensure more energy security in the Rio de Janeiro state region.
This is because Angra 3 will generate 12 million megawatts per year, enough energy to simultaneously supply the cities of Belo Horizonte and Brasília.
The commissioning and testing phase of the Concrete Central should already be coming to an end and, in the coming days, the company will be able to start the concreting phase of the works.
Eletronuclear is just waiting for a release from the National Commission on Nuclear Energy (CNEN), the agency that regulates the Brazilian nuclear sector.
As soon as the company starts this phase, the so-called “Angra 3 Acceleration Plan” will be put into practice. This aims to expedite the work on Angra 3 in certain phases, thereby ensuring more acceleration in the project.
One of the main tasks outlined in the plan is the completion of the concrete superstructure of the reactor building of the plant.
