In Light Of Concerns About The Increase In Fuel Prices, Petrobras President Jean Paul Prates Says There Is No Forecast For Adjustments In Gasoline And Diesel Prices In The Short Term, Despite Recent Fluctuations In The International Oil Market.
At a time when rising oil prices and fluctuations in the dollar are pushing fuel costs globally, Brazil receives a relevant news directly from Petrobras President Jean Paul Prates.
During an event in Brasília, Prates addressed the growing concerns related to gasoline and diesel costs in the country, providing temporary relief to Brazilian consumers by dismissing any imminent increase in fuel prices.
Petrobras President Assures: No Increase In Fuel Prices For Now
According to information from the Brazilian Association of Fuel Importers, gasoline is currently being sold in Brazil at a price about 20% lower than the international parity, while diesel is approximately 10% below the global average.

Despite these differences, Jean Paul Prates reiterated that, for now, Petrobras sees no need to adjust prices to align with the international market. This announcement comes amid economic uncertainty and inflationary pressures, where any increase in fuel prices would have a direct and widespread impact on transportation costs and, consequently, on the final price of goods and services.
International Fluctuations In Oil Prices
The decision by Petrobras follows a pricing policy aimed at balancing the domestic market with global dynamics, without strictly following international oil price fluctuations. The assurance from the Petrobras president that there will be no immediate increases in fuel prices brings relief to Brazilians, especially at a time of post-pandemic economic recovery.
However, the situation remains under scrutiny, given that external factors such as international conflicts and economic policies continue to influence energy markets. For now, the promise is of stability, but the global economic scenario continues to demand attention and constant adaptations from Brazilian authorities and Petrobras.
