The Online Course Covers Everything from Fundamental Concepts to Advanced Practices, Focused on Sustainable Techniques and the Regulation of Organic Production in Brazil
Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) announced the opening of registrations for its free online course on organic production. With a total workload of 22 hours, the free course consists of four modules and is aimed at rural producers, students, technicians, and others interested in learning the fundamentals and the latest practices of organic cultivation. In addition to video lessons, participants will have access to various complementary materials and certification at the end of the training, according to the Agro2 website.
Course Structure: Comprehensive Content Across Four Modules
The structure of the free course is designed for participants to acquire knowledge ranging from initial concepts to advanced organic production practices. The program is divided into four modules, each covering different aspects of organic agriculture.
- First Module: Researcher Gisele Vilela from Embrapa Territorial presents the concept of organic agriculture and its history. This module initially outlined a timeline of movements that inspired and formed the basis for the development of organic agriculture, contextualizing participants on the guiding principles of this practice.
- Second Module: focuses on managing the soil and crops in a sustainable manner while adhering to organic principles. The lessons in this module are dedicated to the techniques and recommended practices to ensure soil fertility and plant health, promoting biodiversity and reducing the use of artificial chemical products.
- Third Module: the course focuses on the regulations and standards that guide organic production in Brazil. This segment is essential for producers who want to regularize organic food production, providing information on certification, legislation, and compliance with the required standards for organic cultivation.
- Fourth Module: includes the use of the Organoteca, a tool from Embrapa that brings together technologies and information applicable to organic production. The Organoteca provides access to various materials, such as videos, brochures, radio programs, and other technical publications. This module is offered so that participants can make the most of the resources and knowledge available to innovate and enhance their agricultural practices.
