Four of the Five Renewable Energy Parks Being Built in Bahia Will Focus on Wind Energy and Many Other Investments Soon
According to the investment proposal presented, there will be four wind power parks and one solar energy park in Bahia. A total of 60 direct jobs will be generated during the construction of the renewable energy venture, another 60 in operations, and 1,400 indirect jobs in Bahia. It is estimated that the first solar park of Brennand in Bahia, Sol do São Francisco I, will begin operations as early as April next year and have an installed production capacity of up to 98.1 Gigawatt-hours (GWh) per year.
“The state of Bahia has brilliantly contributed to the diversification of the renewable energy matrix using its natural potentials, which are sun and wind. The company also contributes investments for the development of the region, bringing jobs and income,” said the Deputy Governor and Secretary of Economic Development, João Leão.

Wind Farms Are Expected to Begin Construction in 2022
The renewable energy parks focused on wind power Morro Branco II and Baraunas IV, XV, and XX are expected to begin operating by May 2022. Together they will have the capacity to produce 661.3 GWh per year of energy. According to Adelson Ferraz, director of Brennand Energia, civil works for the five renewable energy parks have already begun.
The company has 10 wind farms in operation and one under construction, all in Sento Sé, where it has already invested over R$ 1.3 billion. Together, the plants have a total installed capacity of 341 Megawatts (MW).
“Our investments are primarily in wind energy. We are building this solar park to contribute to the reliability of energy supply, one complements the other,” the executive stated.
