New Maxell Cassette Player Reintroduces Retro Walkman Style, Now With Bluetooth, Rechargeable Battery, and High-Quality Sound

Created by Sony in the late 1970s, the Walkman changed the way we listen to music. It became popular with cassette tapes and headphones, allowing people to carry their favorite music anywhere.

Now, nearly 50 years later, Maxell has decided to tap into nostalgia and has released the MXCP-P100. The new device is a portable cassette player that closely resembles the classic Walkman.

It comes with a cassette input and a compact design, maintaining the retro look that marked the era.

Despite the old-school appearance, the MXCP-P100 features modern capabilities. It operates with an internal rechargeable battery via USB-C.

The battery life lasts up to nine hours of use, eliminating the need for AA batteries, which were common in older devices.

Another novelty is the presence of Bluetooth. With this, users can connect wireless headphones and enjoy their tapes with more freedom.

However, if preferred, it is also possible to use wired headphones, as the device retains the traditional input.

The audio quality was another highlighted point at the launch. Maxell claims that the new model delivers high-quality sound, whether with wired or wireless headphones.

For now, the MXCP-P100 is only available for sale in Japan. There is no release date for other countries, including Brazil.

According to the newspaper La Nación, the estimated price here, not including taxes or fees, would be around R$ 490, at the current dollar rate.

The new Maxell cassette player combines the past and present in a single product. It is an option for those who miss cassette tapes but want to enjoy the conveniences of current technology.
