Complete overhaul on a Gol 1.6 AP showed replacement of timing belt, water pump, filters, brake, suspension, and steering items, revealing what might appear in a heavy maintenance of a popular used car over 10 years old.
The Gol 1.6 AP underwent heavy maintenance after a complete checklist identified necessary replacements in engine, brakes, suspension, steering, and cooling items, aiming to have the car overhauled and ready for use.
The service was shown on the channel Cars with Tiago, on YouTube, with mechanic Gustavo overseeing the evaluation. The inspection started with the belt, cables, coolant, and signs of oil leakage.

Even with a new appearance, the timing belt was replaced because there was no certainty about the mileage. The water pump was also replaced after identifying a small leak in the cooling system area.

The replacement required losing the old coolant since the pump would be removed. During assembly, the installation of the new part was highlighted, with careful application of sealant after observing excess used previously.
The list also included 15W40 engine oil, steering oil, fuel filter, oil filter, engine air filter, cabin filter, front windshield wipers, and oil sensor, which was leaking.
Brakes, suspension, and steering were also included in the overhaul
In the brakes section, the rear cylinder, brake fluid, front flexibles, new pads, and reconditioned disc were mentioned. The old flexible was dried out, with a warning about the risk of brake failure in case of leakage.
The suspension was considered tight but received a rear shock absorber kit. The pivot and bent steering bar were also replaced, identified as the cause of the car’s alignment problem.
In the end, the Gol 1.6 AP underwent 3D alignment and had the engine cleaned. The service was presented as a comprehensive maintenance on the Gol Generation 4 1.6, with a large list of parts and a total cost of R$ 416.
