New Government Incentive of ES Attracts More Than 400 Companies and New Investments in the Renewable Energy Sector of the Region Generating Jobs and Income for the Population
According to the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR), ES ranks 18th among the 27 states that produce the most solar energy. The latest records this year show that 105.2 MW were produced in the state. More than 400 companies see ES as fertile ground for investments in renewable energies, which bring not only sustainability but also jobs and income to the population.

ES Gains Highlights in Investments in the Solar Energy Sector
Among the renewable energies that receive the most investment and generate the most jobs in the state of ES is solar energy, which reached 8,088 operational connections in small plots and rooftops across 78 municipalities last month, according to Absolar. Currently, there are about 9,185 consumers of electricity generated from this source.
According to Vitor Romero, coordinator of Absolar in ES, with solar energy at this level in the state, over R$ 27 million has been invested since 2012, along with 3,100 jobs created and about R$ 137 million collected in public coffers, demonstrating the potential of this energy source.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
Government Strategy of ES to Generate Investments in Renewable Energies Yields Results
To encourage investments in renewable energies in the state, the government launched the Gerar program in April of this year, which grants tax benefits to companies that use renewable sources, such as solar and wind energy.
According to the Secretary of Innovation and Development of Espírito Santo, Tyago Hoffmann, the program aims to stimulate the use of renewable energies and generate various jobs.
With the incentive, more than 400 companies have already approached the government of ES this year to learn more about the program. Among the benefits provided to companies is the exemption from ICMS.
Wind Energy Takes Great Steps in ES
There is little data on the exploration of wind energy in Espírito Santo; however, experts assert that ES has great potential for this type of source.
According to the Wind Atlas of Espírito Santo, prepared by the Regulatory Agency in 2009, the potential of the wind source in the state reached 10,500 megawatts of installed capacity.
Furthermore, according to the Atlas, the regions with the highest capacity are divided into two: The South Coast and the Coast of Linhares, where the best potential is found along the stretch of municipalities of Marataízes and Presidente Kennedy.
