The Generator Is Nothing Like A Fan, And Works Swaying From Side To Side
The Spanish startup Vortex Bladeless has innovated by creating a completely unusual wind energy generator. Called Vortex, the model is nothing like a fan as we are used to seeing, but it consists of a cylinder with no blades attached. The device works with horizontal sways as the wind passes through it. Vibrations are generated by this movement, initiating energy production.
Vortex Tests Reveal A Cheaper Energy Generation
According to Vortex itself, the first tests performed with the device revealed a 30% cheaper energy generation. This is because, to create energy from turbine generators with blades, the costs of installation and maintenance are higher than with the Vortex prototype.
Moreover, the technology used in the new generator is capable of taking advantage of locations where wind generation is lower. Meanwhile, conventional generators require a minimum speed for their blades to have enough movement and be able to generate energy.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
Bladeless Wind Energy Generator Does Not Threaten Bird Life
The blade-less turbines of the device do not threaten the life of birds flying in the region, and they are also quieter, which leads to a reduction in noise pollution. Vortex has nicknamed its generator “bladeless wind power pole”, click here to see how it works! With the great advantage of flexibility, the device vibrates when exposed to wind, and as its rod sways, an electromagnetic field is formed. In addition, the startup has revealed that 100 pre-commercial prototypes, each 85 centimeters tall, are already being tested in different locations.
One of the biggest challenges engineering faces today is finding new technologies to meet energy needs in a clean, sustainable, and profitable way. The use of wind energy has been utilized worldwide as a solution to meet this demand, and it was with this in mind that Vortex created a wind generator with many more benefits than conventional ones.
