The New RB20 Sidepod from Red Bull Leaked: Image Revealed, Shows Hidden Details of the Team’s New Formula 1 Car
It seems that the intern responsible for the Red Bull website leaked the secret of the new RB20’s sidepod. After the car’s launch, the entire Formula 1 community was astonished, as we did not see the traditional air passage opening in the sidepod. Until then, only a lightened image of a timid opening led us to understand that Red Bull may have been inspired by Mercedes W13’s “zero sidepod” concept.
The sidepod of the new RB20 from Red Bull is quite similar to that of the W14 version, but for the curious visitors of the team’s website, a 360º version of the car revealed something interesting. It was possible to see, from a bottom-up view, the opening of the sidepod. It is located just below that upper panel of the sidepod, which is more elongated. The opening appears to be smaller than on the last version of the RB19.

But it’s important to remember that this is a digital version of the car, so it may be quite different in real life. The most curious thing is that after these images started being widely shared on social media, Red Bull’s website blocked interaction with the RB20. At least until this video was recorded, it is no longer possible to access the information. Did the intern accidentally let slip this important information?
After several people discovered the secret of the sidepod, Red Bull acted and blocked it. We can’t know for sure, we’ll have to wait for the start of the Formula 1 preseason.
However, it’s quite curious, isn’t it? Everyone thought there wasn’t a traditional sidepod, but it’s there, well hidden.
The Formula 1 returns to the tracks next week, from February 21 to 23, with the preseason collective tests in Bahrain, at the Sakhir circuit.
