British Electric Hypercar Impresses By Defying Gravity With System That Generates Vacuum And Allows Stability Even Upside Down
An impressive image, worthy of science fiction films, showed the McMurtry Spéirling completely still — upside down. The feat was made possible by an exclusive system developed by British manufacturer McMurtry Automotive.
The Spéirling is a single-seat electric hypercar. Its name, which means “storm” in Irish, was chosen in honor of the native language of the company’s founder, David McMurtry.
The car caught attention not only for its futuristic look but also for its ability to remain stable even in an inverted position.

Exclusive System Creates Vacuum Under The Vehicle
The feat results from the Downeyforce-on-Demand system, patented by McMurtry itself. According to the company, it is capable of creating a vacuum under the car’s floor.
This negative pressure is sufficient to generate a force greater than gravity, which allows the vehicle to remain suspended upside down.
McMurtry explains that, while other hypercars and race cars can only generate downforce at high speeds through aerodynamic surfaces, the Spéirling achieves the same effect even when stationary. This makes it unique in the segment.
Acceleration From 0 To 100 Km/h In 1.5 Seconds
In addition to the innovative grip system, the Spéirling also impresses with its performance. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.5 seconds. Even with the current spotlight, the British startup is already planning improvements for the model.
The company’s goal is to produce 100 units of the hypercar by 2026. However, technical updates will still be made, such as the development of a battery with greater capacity.
