The Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) is now accepting applications for a free specialization in Interdisciplinary Teaching of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. With 30 places and in-person evening classes, the course offers certification recognized by the MEC.

Have you ever thought about transforming your academic career without spending a penny? A specialization opportunity, completely free and with a certificate recognized by Ministry of Education (MEC), is available to educators throughout Brazil.

The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP), Araraquara Campus, is calling on interested parties to participate in an innovative course that promises to broaden professional horizons in 2025.

Free course with MEC certification

IFSP announced, through Notice No. 3/2024, the opening of 30 vacancies for the Lato Sensu Postgraduate course in Interdisciplinary Teaching of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

With no tuition, monthly fees or registration costs, the specialization stands out as an excellent training opportunity for teachers.

The course, aimed at educators with degrees recognized by the MEC, has as its central objective to integrate Natural Sciences and Mathematics in an innovative and interdisciplinary approach.

Classes will be taught in person in the evening, always on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 19 pm to 22:35 pm, over two semesters.

Inclusion and equal opportunities

In addition to offering quality specialization, IFSP reaffirms its commitment to inclusion. Some of the vacancies are reserved for affirmative action, including black, mixed race or indigenous candidates (PPI), quilombolas and people with disabilities (PCD).

This policy reinforces diversity within the program and expands opportunities for historically underrepresented groups.

Candidates will be selected based on the analysis of supporting documents, such as undergraduate degree and time spent teaching, in addition to other criteria established by the notice.

This careful selection ensures that participants have suitable profiles and motivation to make the most of the course.

Details of the selection process

Registration began after the publication of the notice and will remain open until February 9, 2025, at 23:59 am (Brasilia time).

Interested parties must complete the online form available at the link: https://forms.gle/WxmgKrc1zQ9nwYjp7.

The organization of the selection process is the responsibility of the Course Board, which will evaluate the following documents and criteria:

  • Proof of teaching experience;
  • Other criteria described in the notice, which may include qualitative analysis of documents.

  • Announcement of the final result: February 14, 2025.

A course to transform careers

The specialization offered by IFSP is not just a qualification opportunity.

It is also an invitation for educators to broaden their academic vision and contribute to a more complete and integrated student education.

With a curriculum that values both theory and practice, the course addresses strategies for interdisciplinary teaching, promoting greater student engagement and learning.

This approach is especially relevant for facing the challenges of contemporary education.
