Exchange Program for Brazilian Teachers in the USA: Free Immersion Course in English with All Expenses Paid by the Government of Brazil

English teachers in Brazilian basic education, get ready for a unique opportunity! The Professional Development Program for English Language Teachers in the United States (PDPI) announces its ninth edition, offering 270 spots for a free training course lasting six weeks, with all expenses covered. Be part of this unique journey and boost your career as an English language educator in the Brazilian public network.

The Professional Development Program for English Language Teachers is a successful initiative developed by CAPES, in partnership with the Embassy of the United States and the Fulbright Commission. Providing a true immersion in daily life in the USA, an English-speaking country, the PDPI not only enhances pedagogical skills but also enriches the historical and cultural perspective of the participants.

All Expenses Covered! Unique Opportunity to Improve Your English

Those selected for the free courses at universities in the USA will not only have the opportunity to enhance their English teaching skills but will also receive comprehensive support. The PDPI will cover domestic and international travel expenses, allowances, visa fee reimbursement, health insurance, accommodation, meals, school fees, and teaching materials.

Program Details and Participation Requirements

The PDPI offers a unique experience for public network English teachers, with a free intensive English course lasting six weeks at renowned universities in the USA. The selection will include up to five teachers from each Brazilian state and the Federal District, prioritizing professionals with a high level of English proficiency, assessed by the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

To participate, interested individuals must have their resume registered in the Freire Platform, (https://freire.capes.gov.br/). The final results will be announced in April 2024, with activities in the USA scheduled to begin in July of the same year. Applications Open for Training Brazilian Teachers in the USA

Applications for the exchange program in the free immersion course in English must be submitted on the Fulbright website by January 15, 2024, CLICKING HERE. Don’t forget to register your resume in the Freire Platform. For all details of the Program, read the Notice No. 32/2023 from CAPES.
