The UFC (Federal University of Ceará) opened, between September 3 and 6, 2025, enrollment for the Intensive English Language Course – Level A1, with a remote format (synchronous and asynchronous) and a total workload of 256 class hours, offered exclusively for students and the community of the interior campuses (Sobral, Quixadá, Russas, Crateús, and Itapajé), aiming to enhance English teaching with accelerated and free content, as an initiative of the British Culture House of UFC.
Details of the Intensive English Language Course – General Structure
The course has an intensive character, bringing together content normally delivered in three semesters in just two, with 256 class hours distributed between September 15, 2025, and September 14, 2026. Classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4 PM to 8 PM, via digital platforms.
The material used will be the book English File Elementary – 4th Edition (Oxford University Press), which must be purchased by the students, according to copyright regulations.

Enrollment: Procedure and Deadlines
Enrollment is free and done exclusively via Google Forms, available from 8 AM on September 3, 2025, to 6 PM on September 6, 2025. Submissions via email or social media will not be accepted.
Each candidate must choose only one enrollment category (internal or external) and is responsible for providing the correct documents. Technical issues will not be considered a valid justification for delays or failures in enrollment.
Required Documentation for Enrollment
For UFC students: ID with photo, CPF, and proof of active enrollment (or similar) confirming active status for at least two consecutive semesters from the start of the course.
For external applicants: identity document, CPF, proof of residence (or a declaration according to the model), and certificate or declaration of completion of high school.
Selection Process, Evaluation, and Certification
The selection will be by chronological order of enrollment, respecting the reserved spots. There will be no waiting list.
Throughout the course, there will be continuous evaluations, including written and oral exams. To obtain the PREX/UFC certificate, it is necessary to:
- Achieve a minimum average of 7.0 in oral and written evaluations;
- Maintain a minimum attendance of 75% (96 hours per semester). The certificate will only be granted at the end of the two semesters.
Required Infrastructure and Legal Provisions
Participants must ensure a minimum structure of stable internet and a suitable environment to attend classes.
The personal data collected will be used exclusively for selection, enrollment, and certification, in accordance with the LGPD – General Data Protection Law, and will subsequently be eliminated or anonymized, except for legal requirements for retention.
