Open Registrations for the Postgraduate Program at UnB Offer Spots for Master’s and Doctorate Focused on Innovations in the Field of Physical Education, Uniting Research and Professional Practice in a Unique Way.

The University of Brasília (UnB) has opened registrations for the Postgraduate Program in Physical Education, offering spots for Master’s and Doctorate in the second semester of 2025.

The PPGEF announcement nº 03/2025 brings an excellent opportunity for those looking to deepen their academic and professional knowledge, with an emphasis on innovative research in Human Movement Sciences.

This is an unmissable chance for those who wish to advance their careers and contribute significantly to the field of Physical Education.

Opportunity for Specialization in a Renowned University

With the aim of fostering scientific production and training highly qualified professionals, UnB opens its doors for two distinct courses: the Master’s and Doctorate in Physical Education.

Both programs focus on research, teaching, and extension, covering areas that include health, movement, and new technologies applied to sports.

Two Modalities to Advance in the Academic Career

The selection process offers a wide range of possibilities for interested candidates.

The Master’s in Physical Education provides a solid foundation in innovative methodologies and educational practices.

Meanwhile, the Doctorate in Physical Education is aimed at training high-level researchers, enabling students to work on the development of new technologies and methodologies that positively impact the sector.

Additionally, the announcement includes spots for candidates interested in affirmative action policies, including spots for Black individuals, Indigenous people, quilombolas, and persons with disabilities.

This ensures an inclusive selection process, broadening access opportunities for different groups in society.

Innovative Research Lines: Choose Your Field of Action

One of the most attractive features of UnB’s selection process is the diversity of research lines offered.

Candidates must choose their preferred area when applying, allowing customization of their academic and professional trajectory.

The research lines cover currently relevant topics, such as the integration of technologies in sports, new educational methodologies in Physical Education, and studies on health and human movement.

These fields of study not only broaden horizons for professionals in the area but also position them at the forefront of scientific research, promoting knowledge advancement and the development of new solutions to contemporary challenges.

Number of Spots and Distribution Between Master’s and Doctorate

According to the announcement, UnB offers a total of 55 spots for the Master’s and Doctorate courses in Physical Education.

The Doctorate has 23 spots, three of which are supplementary, while the Master’s offers 32 spots, also with three supplementary spots.

This number of spots reflects the university’s commitment to selecting high-level candidates, ensuring that future students possess the skills and profile suitable for the program.

Furthermore, there is a reserve of spots for candidates from affirmative action policies, ensuring the inclusion of different social groups in the academic environment and favoring the democratization of higher education.

Who Can Register?

The criteria for registration in UnB’s Postgraduate Program in Physical Education are clearly defined.

Those eligible to apply:

  • Candidates who have completed or are in the final phase of their undergraduate course.
  • Foreign candidates, provided they present the necessary documentation, such as passport and proof of visa.
  • Interested parties in affirmative action policies, who must complete a specific self-declaration and meet the verification criteria established by the university.

It is important to remember that the accuracy of the information provided is essential for the transparency of the selection process, ensuring that all candidates have a fair chance of admission to the program.

Important Dates and Steps in the Selection Process for the Courses in Physical Education

The selection process will be carried out in several stages.

The registrations will take place from April 17 to May 2, 2025, through UnB’s official website.

It is essential that candidates pay attention to the deadlines, as failure to comply may result in disqualification.

The selection process is quite rigorous and includes:

Evaluation of the Research Proposal: Candidates must present a proposal that will be evaluated based on its theoretical quality, objectives, and technical feasibility. It is necessary to achieve a minimum score of 70 points to be approved in this stage.

Curriculum Evaluation: The curriculum will be analyzed considering academic training, experience in teaching, research, and extension, as well as relevant technical-scientific production in the field of Physical Education.

Oral Examination: A decisive stage for candidates, conducted remotely, where candidates present their research plan. Aspects such as clarity in presentation, theoretical-methodological mastery, and professional experience will be assessed.

The final classification will be determined by the weighted average of the scores obtained in the three stages of the selection process, with tie-breaking criteria considering the performance in the research proposal, oral examination, and curriculum. As a last resort, the candidate’s age may be considered to resolve tie situations. Click to Register.
