Scheduled to start in May 2025, the specialization course in Innovation in Technology-Mediated Education promises to qualify teachers and education professionals in advanced technological tools, promoting a revolution in teaching and learning.
Published in December 2024, the Public Notice No. 41/2024 has already defined all the criteria for participation and detailed the stages of the selection process.
Course Details And Who Can Participate
The specialization is aimed at educators who wish to integrate innovative technologies into their pedagogical practices.
The course covers everything from the development and evaluation of educational technologies to computational thinking, essential for a modern and accessible education.
Teachers from basic education and other education professionals with a degree recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC). can participate.
It is also necessary to possess basic computer skills and stable internet access. The program is especially aimed at those seeking:
- To update themselves on the latest trends in educational technology;
- To use technologies as pedagogical tools;
- To incorporate computational thinking into lessons;
- To explore new possibilities in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
Furthermore, UFABC ensures inclusion by reserving 88 places for affirmative action policies, which encompass specific groups, such as self-declared black people, indigenous people, quilombola descendants, transgender individuals, those with disabilities, and refugees.
Available Places And Support Centers
The course offers 210 places distributed between broad competition and affirmative actions.
Classes will be held in a distance learning format, but with in-person support at five locations in the state of São Paulo:
- Guarulhos;
- Jales;
- Jardim Guapira;
- Jardim Santa Lucrécia;
- City of Antônio Estêvão de Carvalho.
Classified candidates will have access to excellent education, with digital teaching materials and technical support throughout the training.
How The Selection Process Will Work?
Enrollment will be open from January 6 to February 6, 2025, exclusively through the official website of the selection process: https://propg.ufabc.edu.br/processo-seletivo-lato-sensu/.
The selection process will be divided into two main stages:
- EMT Selective Course: An online course of 15 hours, lasting two weeks. To advance, it is necessary to obtain a minimum average of 7.0 and complete all activities on time.
- Final Classification: Candidates will be classified based on the score obtained in the selective course. In the event of a tie, UFABC will prioritize teachers or managers who are newer in their careers and younger in age.
This methodology ensures that the best candidates, with a profile suitable for the course proposal, are selected.
