Free selection gathers opportunities in different regions of the Federal District, with technical courses in-person, semi-presential, and distance learning in areas related to technology, management, services, industry, food, and agriculture, expanding alternatives for those seeking professional training in the second academic semester of 2026.

The Federal Institute of Brasília (IFB) has opened a selection process with 1,639 free spots in technical courses for entry in the second academic semester of 2026.

The opportunities are distributed among in-person, distance, and semi-presential courses, offered in units located in different administrative regions of the Federal District.

The selection includes training in areas such as System Development, Administration, Occupational Safety, Gastronomy, Agriculture, Audio and Video Production, Construction, Logistics, Events, and Biotechnology.

Registrations are free and must be made online until May 29, 2026, in the IFB’s selection process system.

The spots are part of Selection 2026/2 and cover subsequent technical courses, aimed at those who have already completed High School, as well as options integrated with High School in the Youth and Adult Education modality (Proeja).

There are also courses in the EaD modality, some with mandatory in-person meetings.

Free technical course spots in the Federal District

The opportunities were opened in the Brasília, Ceilândia, Estrutural, Gama, Planaltina, Recanto das Emas, Riacho Fundo, Samambaia, São Sebastião, and Taguatinga campuses.

The distribution varies according to the course, shift, teaching modality, and the structure available in each unit.

Among the subsequent in-person courses, aimed at candidates who have already finished High School, the Brasília Campus concentrates spots in System Development, Administration, and Public Services.

The Ceilândia Campus offers options in Biomedical Equipment, Electronics, and Occupational Safety in the semi-presential EaD modality.

In Gama, there are opportunities in Logistics and Administration, while the Estrutural unit offers Automotive Maintenance.

In Planaltina, there are courses related to the agricultural sector and biotechnology, including in-person and distance options, according to the selection notice.

Recanto das Emas offers vacancies in Audio and Video Production and Animation.

In Riacho Fundo, the options include Gastronomy, Baking, and Restaurant and Bar, with courses aimed at technical training in areas related to food, service, and hospitality.

Samambaia offers courses such as Environmental Control and Building Construction, while São Sebastião has vacancies in Secretariat and School Secretary.

In Taguatinga, opportunities include Maintenance and Support in IT, Electromechanics, and Garment Modeling.

In-person, Distance Learning, and Semi-in-person Courses at IFB

The majority of vacancies are in subsequent in-person technical courses, totaling 1,049 opportunities.

In this modality, the candidate must have completed High School by the date required for enrollment, according to the rules of the notice.

There are also 240 in-person vacancies in Proeja, a modality that integrates High School and technical training for young people and adults.

In this category, IFB offers Administration in Gama, Audio and Video Production in Recanto das Emas, Restaurant and Bar in Riacho Fundo, Building Construction in Samambaia, and Garment Modeling in Taguatinga.

In the distance learning modality, subsequent and concurrent technical courses offer vacancies in areas such as Events, Systems Development, Occupational Safety, Agriculture, and Biotechnology.

Although classified as Distance Learning, some courses require mandatory in-person meetings, which requires the candidate’s attention before registration.

In the case of Occupational Safety, for example, there are classes linked to the Ceilândia Campus with in-person meetings on specific days of the week.

Agriculture and Biotechnology appear as semi-in-person options at the Planaltina Campus, with shifts and workloads defined in the notice.

Who Can Apply for IFB Vacancies

The subsequent courses are aimed at candidates who have already completed High School.

This requirement applies to both in-person options and Distance Learning offers for those seeking technical training after the basic education stage.

In Proeja, the selection is directed at people over 18 years old who wish to attend High School integrated with professional training.

This modality serves students who did not complete this stage at the regular age and are seeking free technical training.

For concurrent and subsequent technical courses in the distance learning modality, the rules vary according to the offer.

In general, the concurrent modality allows the student to pursue technical training while still in High School, provided they meet the requirements set out in the notice.

Each candidate can choose only one course in the selection process.

Therefore, the guidance is to carefully check the campus, shift, duration, modality, mandatory in-person meetings, and participation criteria before finalizing the registration.

Electronic Draw and Enrollment in Technical Courses

The IFB selection process will be conducted by electronic draw, scheduled for June 26, 2026.

The approval of the result, the formation of the preliminary waiting list, and the call for enrollment in the first round are scheduled for June 30, 2026.

First-round enrollments should take place between July 1 and 3, 2026, according to the official schedule.

After that, IFB may call candidates in the second round and in subsequent rounds if there are still vacant spots.

The schedule also includes specific stages for candidates registered through the reservation of vacancies.

The submission of supporting documentation must occur between May 25 and 29, 2026, either online or in person, according to the campus and the guidelines of the notice.

There is a reservation of vacancies for public school students, people with disabilities, low-income candidates, black, brown, indigenous, and quilombola people, in addition to other affirmative actions provided for in the legislation.

Documentary proof is mandatory for those competing in these modalities.

How to Enroll in IFB’s Free Technical Courses

Registrations are free and must be made exclusively online, on the IFB selection process system, until May 29, 2026.

Before completing the registration, the candidate must read the notice, check the desired modality, choose only one course, and verify if there is a requirement for additional documentation or mandatory in-person meetings.
