Fiat Registered New Patents for Vehicles. The Big News Is That the Fiat Argo Is Set to Be Transformed into an SUV.
The Italian automaker Fiat is preparing major changes to its cars for the coming years, as revealed by patent registrations made in Europe. According to information disclosed this Tuesday (27) by the blog “Auto Segredos” on the UOL portal, these patents have caused a stir in the automotive world and a lot of speculation.
According to the publication, this is happening because the documents refer to the Fiat Panda, which will be the direct sibling of the new Argo, a model that sells well in Brazil. The blog highlights that this model is expected to debut in the market between late 2025 and early 2026 and will not mark the return of the Uno to Brazil, nor will it replace the Mobi.
The New Argo Has Codenames in Brazil.
The previously mentioned blog reports that this new generation of the Fiat Argo is referred to in the halls of Stellantis, the automaker located in Betim, Minas Gerais, by three codenames: Project 328, F1H, and Argo Next Gen.

Cheaper than new HB20, Onix, and Argo, this German sedan offers a 510-liter trunk, a 2.0 naturally aspirated engine, a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, and well-known mechanics; the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta Comfortline still attracts attention in the used market.

A mechanic opened the engine compartment of an 11-year-old Ford to replace a part and found a wallet with money, gift cards, and the badge of the worker who had assembled that car at the factory.

Toyota sells a “Family Spin” cheaper than the Chevrolet Spin in Brazil, with 7 seats and a price starting from around R$ 70,000 in tax-free conversion; Avanza 2026 has a 1.3 or 1.5 engine, manual or CVT transmission, 205 mm ground clearance, and a family proposal that Brazilians don’t have in Indonesia.

Five used cars that can handle 100 km per day without breaking the bank, but experts warn that even the most durable ones may hide expensive repairs if they’ve gone years without proper maintenance.
The latter is considered a more revealing codename, as it suggests that the model may indeed be a new generation of the vehicle, currently part of the hatch category. In this regard, if it actually comes to fruition, the Argo Next Gen will be the first Fiat to feature the Common Modular Platform (CMP) in Brazil.
According to “Auto Segredos”, the model will be produced in Betim, where all new models to be manufactured at the plant will utilize the new platform.
SUV Body on the Fiat Argo.
As indicated by the patent registrations, the new Fiat Argo, with an SUV body, will have dimensions similar to the new generation of the Peugeot 2008, maintaining its 2.65 meters of wheelbase. The length is expected to be around 4.30 meters, the width approximately 1.98 meters, and the height close to 1.55 meters.
Detailing these documents, the aforementioned blog claims that these registrations made in Europe can reveal over 90% of what the new generation of the Argo will be. However, the publication notes that there may be changes, for example, in the doors.
The model circulating in Brazil is also expected to have differences compared to the registered project in items such as bumpers and light assemblies. However, the dashboard with very futuristic lines is expected to be replicated.
Finally, the blog reports that regarding the engine, this new generation of the Fiat Argo will feature the 1.0 Turbo Flex Turbo 200 engine and a MHEV hybrid system. The latter is expected to be associated with the same engine. It is important to highlight the possibility that the model may have a conventional hybrid system (HEV).
