Fiat’s compact pickup closed June 2026 leading the Brazilian market, surpassing SUVs, hatches, and traditional rivals in a ranking with Volkswagen’s advance, BYD’s presence among the top ten, and growth in the accumulated first semester.

With 14,303 units registered, the Fiat Strada ended June 2026 as the best-selling vehicle in Brazil, according to a survey by consultancy K.Lume cited by Itatiaia, ahead of Volkswagen T-Cross, Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Argo, Volkswagen Tera, and Chevrolet Onix.

In the same period, the national market totaled 259,760 registrations of automobiles and light commercial vehicles, while the accumulated first semester reached 1,356,225 units sold, an increase of 19.9% compared to the same period in 2025.

Fiat Strada leads sales in Brazil in June

The first position of Fiat’s pickup occurred in a list marked by a mix of hatches, SUVs, light commercials, and electrified models, a scenario that expanded the competition between traditional brands and growing manufacturers in the country.

In second place, the Volkswagen T-Cross recorded 11,753 units, while the Volkswagen Polo appeared right after, with 10,939 registrations, keeping the German brand in a strong position among the highest volume models.

Just below, the Fiat Argo totaled 9,831 units, followed by the Volkswagen Tera, which closed the group of the top five with 9,289 registrations and reinforced Volkswagen’s presence at the top of the ranking.

With three models in the top 5, Volkswagen pressured the overall leadership, but Fiat maintained the lead with the Strada and also placed the Argo among the best-selling vehicles of the month.

Even against rivals like Onix, Polo, Hilux, and T-Cross, the Strada opened a significant gap over different segments, with an advantage of 2,550 units over the T-Cross and more than 3,300 registrations over the Polo.

1.3 Firefly Engine and Autonomy of Fiat Strada 2026

Besides commercial performance, versions of the Strada continue to be equipped with the 1.3 Firefly engine, a naturally aspirated flex-fuel unit that delivers up to 107 hp with ethanol and 99 hp with gasoline, according to the technical specifications of the Endurance 2026 version published by FichasCar.

According to the same technical specifications, the pickup records a highway consumption of 13.3 km/l with gasoline and can reach up to 732 km of range under this usage condition, depending on the version and driving scenario.

As a technical reference, this number varies according to fuel, driving, load carried, and type of route, without representing a guarantee of identical range for all drivers in real use.

In the Strada Endurance 1.3 Firefly 2026 configuration, the model features a manual transmission, front-wheel drive, a 55-liter tank, and a maximum torque of 13.7 kgfm with ethanol, characteristics associated with urban use and daily work.

Volkswagen places three models in the top 5

Among the intermediate positions, Volkswagen played a significant role by gathering T-Cross, Polo, and Tera among the top five, a move that reinforced the brand’s competitiveness in different segments in the Brazilian market.

Cited by Itatiaia as the leader among SUVs for the month, the T-Cross also occupied the overall runner-up position in June, while Polo and Tera completed the German automaker’s presence at the top of the ranking.

Outside the top 5, the Chevrolet Onix appeared in sixth place, with 7,972 units, followed by the Hyundai HB20, which recorded 6,914 registrations and kept compact hatchbacks among the top-selling vehicles.

In the pickup competition, the Fiat Toro ranked 19th, with 4,202 units, while the Toyota Hilux appeared in the 23rd position, with 3,887 registrations for the month-end.

Meanwhile, the Volkswagen Saveiro, a direct competitor to the Strada among compacts, ended June in 30th place, with 3,142 units, a volume more than four times smaller than that recorded by Fiat’s leader.

BYD’s electric vehicles gain space in the ranking

BYD also gained prominence among the ten best-selling vehicles in June, with two electric models in relevant positions within a ranking still dominated by flex-fuel cars, compact SUVs, and light commercials.

In eighth place, the Dolphin Mini registered 6,457 units and was ahead of the Hyundai Creta, while the BYD Dolphin reached the tenth position, with 5,512 registrations for the month.

This performance shows the entry of electrified vehicles into a higher volume range, although the top positions remain concentrated among traditional brands, especially Fiat and Volkswagen.

In addition to BYD’s electric vehicles, the survey gathered SUVs and crossovers such as Fiat Pulse, Volkswagen Nivus, Jeep Renegade, Chevrolet Tracker, Honda HR-V, Jeep Compass, and Toyota Corolla Cross among the most registered models.

With varied body styles and different price ranges, the June ranking indicated a market less concentrated in a single segment, even though the Strada maintained an isolated lead in the monthly result.

Automotive market closes semester on a high

The result of June helped consolidate a positive first semester for the Brazilian automotive sector, with a growth of 19.9% in registrations from January to June compared to the same period in 2025.

Also in the year-to-date, the Strada appeared as the leader, with 83,041 units in the first semester of 2026, ahead of the Polo, which totaled 54,096 registrations in the same period.

In third place in the year-to-date, the T-Cross surpassed 48 thousand units and confirmed the strength of SUVs in the national market, although Fiat’s pickup maintained a wide advantage both in the month and the semester.

The combination of monthly volume, accumulated performance, and presence in different usage profiles helps explain why the Strada remains a reference among the best-selling vehicles in Brazil.

With Volkswagen pressing in the top 5 and BYD advancing among the electrified, which model has the best chance of threatening Strada’s leadership in the coming months?
