The Italian Brand Is Shaking Up The Automotive Market And Putting Renault On Alert. The New Fiat Titano, An Affordable Car (At Least Outside Brazil), Is Expected To Arrive In The Brazilian Market In 2024.
As one of the global leaders in the automotive sector, Fiat is constantly seeking innovations to maintain its prominent position in the international market. Recently, the automaker announced the launch of the Titano pickup, a more affordable model designed to outperform its competitors, such as Renault. This new model is Fiat’s bet in the competitive mid-size pickup segment, promising to combine affordability with quality and performance.
Fiat Titano Can Deliver Up To 200 Horsepower

Fiat is about to enter the competitive mid-size pickup market in Brazil with the launch of the Fiat Titano, which promises to rival Renault models. The affordable car uses the same base as the Peugeot Landtrek, sold in other markets, and represents Fiat’s entry into an unprecedented segment for the brand in the country.

Like its competitors, the Fiat Titano is expected to be equipped with a diesel engine with 4×2 and 4×4 versions. The engine chosen for the affordable car is expected to be the same as the one that equips the Fiat Ducato van: the well-known 2.2 turbodiesel, with around 200 horsepower and sufficient 45.9 kgfm of torque. The Titano’s transmission will be a 6-speed automatic.
The design of the Fiat Titano, which will initially be imported from Uruguay, is practically the same as the Peugeot Landtrek. What changes are details in the bumper and front grille, and of course, the presence of the Fiat logo.
The lines of the Titano are very reminiscent of the Nissan Frontier pickup and another strong competitor, the Toyota Hilux. Considering the dimensions of the Landtrek, Renault’s rival will be over 5 m long and nearly 3.20 m in wheelbase, ensuring ample interior space for rear seat passengers. The payload capacity is expected to be around 1 ton, being compatible with rival pickups.
New Fiat Titano May Arrive Costing R$ 240 Thousand
So far, the brand has not disclosed technical details of the Titano, including information on engine options, launch date, prices, and available versions. The expectation is that the automaker will opt for a streamlined range, positioning the pickup in a price range starting from R$ 240 thousand, something close to what is charged for the XLS version of the new Ford Ranger.
According to images already released by Fiat, the affordable car will inherit internal elements from the Peugeot Landtrek, and the pickup will be equipped with a digital instrument panel in the top-of-the-line versions, in addition to a multimedia center with a 10-inch screen.
Among the features, the 360° camera stands out, as well as the electronic descent control system in the 4×4 versions. In the more sophisticated configurations, the new Fiat Titano is also expected to come equipped with an ADAS package, which includes automatic emergency braking, as well as lane-keeping assistance and blind-spot detectors.
Another Fiat Launch For 2024
Another guaranteed launch from Fiat is the Topolino, the Italian version of the microcar that follows in the footsteps of the Opel Rock and the recently arrived Citroen Ami, both successful.
The Topolino stands out for its retro style, heavily inspired by the classic Fiat 500. This novelty is already available at dealerships in Italy, featuring a nostalgic design and a unique approach to the microcar segment.
The expectation is that the Topolino will hit the market delivering 8 horsepower and a 5.5 kWh battery with which it could reach a top speed of 45 km/h and an electric range of 75 km. Additionally, the affordable Fiat car comes with a household outlet in the door for charging and measures 2.41 meters, making it ideal for parking anywhere.
