Fiocruz Virtual Campus and Participation Methods
The Fiocruz Virtual Campus operates as a health education network, bringing together offerings from different units of the institution in one portal.
In this environment, the course microsites, registrations, and access to active classes are concentrated, with information about workload, target audience, content, and deadlines.
The training courses are free and cover SUS workers in assistance and management functions, teachers, researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as those interested in public health topics.
Participation depends only on meeting the criteria for each course, described on the respective registration pages.
Access to the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA) is granted after enrollment.
From there, the student follows video lectures, supplementary materials, forums, assessment instruments, and other digital resources organized in modules.
Upon completing the track and achieving the minimum required performance, the system releases the certificate, which in most cases is available within five business days after approval.
Fiocruz Single Access and Integration with UNA-SUS
Login to the Virtual Campus is being unified through Fiocruz Single Access, which now centralizes access to the institution’s digital services.
By registering, individuals create a single user account to access different courses and environments.
During the transition period, some spaces remain integrated with UNA-SUS authentication, but the recommendation is to prioritize the Single Access when registering for new courses.
After enrollment is confirmed on each course page, access to the AVA allows tracking activities, taking assessments, and issuing the certificate directly in the system.
Topics Aligned with SUS Priorities
The available tracks reflect current challenges in public health policies, such as digital transformation, prevention and care of chronic diseases, combating ageism and structural racism, integration of human, animal, and environmental health, and analysis of global health international agendas.
There are self-instructional courses, where the student organizes their own study pace within the prescribed workload.
There are also training sessions with synchronous meetings, aimed particularly at professionals active in the service network.
In several cases, the content remains accessible as Open Educational Resources (OER) on the Virtual Campus Mooc, even after the certified classes end.
