Free Courses From Fiocruz Offer Over 8 Thousand Online Positions in Health, Science and Technology, With Enrollment Open in the Virtual Campus and Recognized Certification, Covering Topics Such as Digital Health, Diabetes, Aging and Racial Literacy.

The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation offers over 8 thousand positions in free distance training on the Fiocruz Virtual Campus, with direct enrollment and completion certificates issued by the institution.

The opportunities cover strategic topics in public health, science, and technology, and are open to SUS professionals, students, and the interested public, according to the criteria of each course.

Broad Offer Focused on SUS Needs

The training covers content that addresses current challenges of the Unified Health System, such as digital transformation, chronic disease prevention, population aging, and reducing inequalities.

Among the offerings, there are self-instructional and remote courses, with pathways that allow studying at one’s own pace and obtaining a certificate after assessment provided in each program.

The Virtual Campus brings together the enrollment pages and active classes.

Highlighted Courses and Syllabi

The Digital Health area has gained a specific pathway.

The course “Introduction to Digital Health,” with 45 hours and a self-instructional format, integrates the training program in data and information in health for SUS and addresses principles, applications, and ethical use of technologies in health.

The initiative was launched on May 30, 2025, and continues with materials and offerings linked to the Virtual Campus.

For the care of chronic diseases, Fiocruz maintains training on diabetes, focusing on early diagnosis and self-care.

The content includes epidemiology, risk factors, organization of the care network, and prevention of complications, with classes and materials updated throughout 2024 and 2025.

In the field of aging, there is a specific course on literacy in ageism and age discrimination, which discusses concepts, practices, and policies to promote aging with dignity, as well as open resources in the Mooc environment.

The offering includes lessons on how to recognize and confront age discrimination in health services.

The topic of racial equity in health is also addressed.

The course “Racial Literacy for SUS Workers” is online and self-instructional, with 30 hours, and addresses the fundamentals of structural racism, anti-racist practices, and impacts on health-disease processes.

Another focus is the approach One Health, which integrates human, animal, and environmental health.

The course “Introduction to One Health” presents concepts, case studies, and national and international guiding documents, organized into two modules and with 30 hours of workload.

Supplementary teaching materials are available as open educational resources.

For those following the international agenda, the Course on Current Issues in Global Health and Health Diplomacy 2025 discusses major governance forums, such as the World Health Assembly, the UN General Assembly, and COP30.

The content schedule was announced for 2024 and 2025, with activities starting on February 12, 2025.

There are also training programs aimed at specific audiences.

The pathway “Promotion of Mental Health for Indigenous Youth” qualifies primary care, education, and social assistance professionals to identify illnesses, propose educational actions, and value traditional knowledge, with a structure in three modules and 30 hours.

The program was announced in July 2025.

Institutional Partnerships and Assistive Themes

In cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Fiocruz offers the course “Use of Rapid Tests for the Diagnosis of HIV Infection, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B and C.”

The training is online, self-instructional, and guides the standardized execution of tests in SUS, with specific modules for each disease and a total of 20 hours in the latest edition.

Among the assistive contents, the Childbirth Assistance Course organizes modules on dystocias and causes of maternal morbidity and mortality, with open materials available in the Mooc and requiring enrollment in the active offering for certificate issuance.

The campus also brings together training on social control in SUS, with initiatives in monitoring and evaluation, along with resources on social participation and health councils.

Workload, Certification, and Open Materials

Most of the highlighted offerings are self-instructional and free, with a workload defined by course.

In programs like Racial Literacy and One Health, the workload is 30 hours.

In Digital Health, it is 45 hours.

In the case of rapid tests for STIs, the current edition informs 20 hours.

Materials from completed courses remain accessible as Open Educational Resources in the Mooc environment, useful for updating and studying, although certification depends on enrollment in an active offering and approval in the final assessment.

How to Enroll

Enrollment is done directly on the Fiocruz Virtual Campus. The interested party chooses the desired course and registers to access the learning environment.

In recent offerings, access can be done through Fiocruz Single Access or the UNA-SUS network, with login and enrollment on the course page itself.

Upon completion of the requirements and the specified assessment, the student issues the certificate through the system.
