Samsung Smartphone Reaches The End Of Upgrade Cycle With New System And Redesigned Look, But Security Will Remain Active
The Galaxy A14 is receiving its second and final operating system update. Samsung has begun rolling out Android 15 with One UI 7 for the 4G model in some regions of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The version updates the system to the A145FXXU9DYG5 package, including the May 2025 security patch.
Originally launched with Android 13, the Galaxy A14 now concludes its cycle of major updates, as outlined by Samsung’s support policy for entry-level models. However, users will still receive security patches indefinitely.
Android 15 Arrives First In Some Regions

According to reports posted on forums like Reddit and verified by sites like SamMobile and Oficina da Net, the update has begun to reach devices with model number SM-A145F sold outside South America. The package is about 2.6 GB and can be downloaded directly from the device’s settings.

One UI 7 Brings New Look, Animations, And Native Improvements
The new Samsung interface brings significant visual changes to the Galaxy A14. The Quick Panel is now separated from notifications, which appear in a new pill-shaped format, taking up the full width of the screen. The system has also received new animations, redesigned icons, and smoother transitions.
Other new features include:
- Ongoing activities bar on the lock screen
- Better organization of folders in landscape mode
- New widgets with customizable styles
- Camera interface with optimized shortcuts for one-handed use
- Image editor with story-style collages
- Integration with Samsung Health, now focusing on mental well-being
- Reminders with multiple dates and easier rescheduling
- Smart selection feature with actions based on displayed content
- If-Else logic in Modes and Routines
- New protections to preserve battery integrity
Even being a basic model, the Galaxy A14 will receive almost all of these features, with some exceptions limited by hardware.
Update Cycle Ends, But Security Remains Active
The update to Android 15 marks the end of the version update cycle for the Galaxy A14, which followed Samsung’s standard policy of two upgrades for entry-level models. The Galaxy A line is not included in the list of smartphones that receive extended support for four or five years.
Despite this, the device will continue to receive periodic security patches that protect against malware, flaws, and vulnerabilities. This ensures users a minimum level of protection even without future Android features.
How To Check If The Update Is Available
Users who wish to check the availability of Android 15 on the Galaxy A14 should follow this path:
- Go to Settings
- Tap on Software Update
- Select Download And Install
- Wait for the verification and follow the on-screen instructions
Samsung recommends keeping the phone charging during the process and using a Wi-Fi connection, as the update package exceeds 2 GB.
