Large Companies Have Signed Up to Participate in the Bidding for the Importation of Natural Gas from GasBol, In This Phase They Must Present the Desired Quantities by Entry and Exit Points
The Bolivia-Brazil Transporter (TBG) opened last Thursday (08/29) the first round of a bidding process for the construction of pipelines and terminals aimed at the importation of natural gas from Bolivia, while Petrobras prepares the works for Route 3 of Comperj.
In this public consultation phase, companies indicate which segment they are interested in building, signaling the entry and/or Exit Point/Zone.
High Interest
Confirming the high level of interest in Brazilian natural gas, eighteen large companies have signed up in this first phase of the TBG pipeline bidding process, which is set to contract up to 18 million m³/day by the end of the year.

Cheaper than new HB20, Onix, and Argo, this German sedan offers a 510-liter trunk, a 2.0 naturally aspirated engine, a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, and well-known mechanics; the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta Comfortline still draws attention in the used car market.
The results of this phase will be announced by September 10, and companies interested in participating in the second round must express their interest by 5:30 PM on September 11, with the results coming out on September 20.
In the second round, companies receive the form to participate and detail their proposals a bit further, but they cannot reduce the requested quantities by more than 15%.
A reduction of up to 10% of the quantities requested in the first phase for each product at each Entry Point and/or Exit Point/Zone will only be accepted in the second round.
Among the eighteen interested companies are major natural gas producers such as ExxonMobil, Petrobras, Shell, and Repsol, as well as large distribution companies like Gás Brasiliano, Comgás, SCGás, and MSGás.
The demand for natural gas is expected to be very high in the coming years, and preparation for this energy transition has seen many actions from both the government and investors.
The government has just launched, through the MME, a public consultation aimed at the A-4 auction that is scheduled to take place on March 31, 2020.
According to the document, the plants, which may be natural gas or coal and be new or existing, must be ready to operate by December 31, 2023.
