More than 9 thousand Brazilian workers will benefit from the change in working hours promoted by the federal public administration
A measure announced by the Federal Government brought relief to a specific group of workers Brazilians. The new rule reduces the weekly working hours from 44 hours to 40 hours, serving 9 thousand professionals who perform continuous functions in the federal public administration. The change was formalized through a normative instruction published by the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) and should be renewed soon, according to the FDR website.
These professionals are hired with exclusive dedication and work in essential areas of public service. According to the Deputy Secretary of Management and Innovation, Kathyana Buonafina, the measure modernizes administrative contracts and strengthens labor relations, promoting greater justice for these workers.
Categories covered by the new rule
The reduction of the weekly working hours covers outsourced workers who exercise in various public administration support functions. Among the categories benefiting are:
- Do you want to work at SESI with a salary of up to R$4.579,46 in the EDUCATION area? In addition to a competitive salary, exclusive benefits are offered
- How about working from home from 10am to 19pm and earning up to R$3.747,81 + R$41,60 per day for food and R$124,80 for home office assistance? A home office position for a salesperson working from Monday to Friday is open!

- Archive technician
- Car washer

Although the initial list covers these areas, the government has indicated that new categories may be included in the future.
Rules and exceptions
Not all workers will be affected by the change immediately.. The new rules do not apply to professionals who work intermittently or on a rotating basis, such as:
- 12×36 scale (12 hours of work for 36 hours of rest)
- 24×72 scale (24 hours of work for 72 hours of rest)
