To Open New Job Opportunities at the Enseada Shipyard, the Government of Bahia Assembles a Task Force
The Government of Bahia prioritizes investments in the Enseada shipyard to revive the economy of the naval sector. To this end, a team named Task Force has been assembled to work exclusively on the project for new business and income sources for the region. The Enseada shipyard is located in Maragojipe in the Recôncavo region of Bahia. According to data from the shipyard, Enseada has already employed more than seven thousand people at the industrial plant, situated along the banks of the Paraguaçu River.
The Task Force
During a visit from a delegation of the Secretariat of Economic Development (SDE), the group was presented, which will prioritize working to place the shipyard back as a source of income and employability. “We need to make this important asset operate. There is no one who is not moved by this scenario. This is a venture with a very high investment that boosted the state’s economy but has suffered a setback due to the national oil and naval industry crisis,” said the state secretary of economic development, Luiza Maia.

Current Projects at the Shipyard
Considered a victory for the shipyard in August was the maintenance contract for the drilling rig Norbe VI from Ocyan. The next highly anticipated contract for the shipyard is the construction of four Tamandaré-class corvettes for the Navy. The members of the task force will be working diligently to acquire many contracts in order to increase profits and jobs in the Bahian naval sector.
