Project Is Part of State Housing Program and Will Be Executed in Partnership With Local Municipalities
The Government of São Paulo announced on Monday (14) the construction of 22,700 new housing units across the state. The initiative is part of the Casa Paulista program and aims to increase access to housing. In the Vale do Paraíba, 582 units are planned.
According to the government, part of these housing units will be built through the Housing and Urban Development Company (CDHU) and another part through the Real Estate Credit Letter (CCI) modality. The proposal is to cater to different profiles and expedite the hiring processes.
In the Vale do Paraíba region, of the 582 units planned, 358 will be built through a bidding process conducted by CDHU. The remaining 224 will fall under the CCI modality, which will also be facilitated through its own processes.

According to the government, authorization for the bidding has already been granted. Thus, the public notices for the construction of CDHU housing units should be published soon, following the required procedures for this type of public contracting.
The total investment in housing across the state is R$ 2.1 billion. This amount covers everything from the bidding stage to the completion of the constructions, aiming to reduce the housing deficit and promote regional development.
The Casa Paulista program is coordinated by the state government and seeks to support municipalities in creating new housing complexes. The focus is to increase the number of affordable housing units for families that meet the criteria defined by public policy.
The new units are expected to benefit residents from various regions, especially in the interior of the state and medium-sized cities.
