Government Assistance Aims to Reach 70,000 Students by 2022
According to the Secretary of Economic Development, Patrícia Ellen, the government aims to perform well, increasing the demand for students wanting the courses and having many young people filling job and entrepreneurship positions.
The São Paulo government assistance will be divided into R$ 150 per month for students during four months of the course. The estimate is that more than 70,000 scholarships will be offered by 2022, with an investment that could reach R$ 42 million.
The expectation is that up to 30,000 of the total 97,810 places will be able to receive the assistance from the São Paulo government. In the case of students aged 14 to 15 years, it will be necessary to have a designated guardian for the distribution of assistance and for the family income to be up to three minimum wages.
To receive the scholarship, students must attend at least 75% of the course and cannot use the unemployment insurance benefit. Payments will begin in October and will take place through the Bolsa do Povo portal.
