The State Government of Goiás Initiated Negotiations for the Implementation of a National Railway System (SFE), Like the National Road System (SRE), Which Brings Together the National Road Network.
The project will be executed by the Goiás Infrastructure and Transportation Department (Goinfra), which held its first meeting on this Monday (01/23/2001) with representatives from the industry interested in expanding intermodal transport – Industry, logistics companies, producers, public managers, and others – with the aim of making proposals, accepting them, and working together on a bill that authorizes the implementation of railways in the state.

Opening the meeting, the president of the institution, Lucas Vissotto, emphasized that the topic is a priority for the state government of Goiás, by determination of Governor Ronaldo Caiado, and that the creation of the SFE will be made in partnership with the relevant departments.
“The investment in the railway will be a driver and a catalyst for the development of the state of Goiás. We would like to hear proposals for drafting a bill and defining the first and second branches,” he emphasized.

Vissotto also highlighted that Goinfra will seek to minimize bureaucracy, the involvement of the private sector, whether through mandates, expropriations, or even possible incentives.
Riumar dos Santos, Planning Director at Goinfra, was responsible for presenting the proposal for the creation of the SFE and Goiás’ potential to absorb the railway model. He showed the draft project for the secondary branches to connect to the existing main line in the Goiás region, under federal government authorization.
Work Together
From the meeting on this Monday, Vissotto created a working group of participants to receive proposals and develop the project that authorizes the creation of the SFE in Goiás. The president plans to hold a workshop in February to present the results of the group – including a proposal to build the state’s first secondary agency. He emphasized: “Our goal is to accelerate progress and facilitate the integration and circulation of industrial and agricultural production methods.”
Célio Eustáquio de Moura, representative of the Federation of Industries of the State of Goiás (Fieg), also offered to contribute to the realization and agility of the project. Similarly, Maria Carolina Noronha, a consultant for the National Transport Confederation (CNT), positioned herself as a supporter of the state’s railway expansion and is willing to share information and knowledge accumulated by the entity.
Also participating in the meeting were Herculano Caiado (Triunfo Logística); Laura de Paula Silva and Edeon Vaz Ferreira (Association of Soy and Corn Producers of Goiás – Aprosoja-GO); Guilherme Penin (Rumo Logística); Peter Van Hagen (Dynatest Engenharia); Alexandro Santos (Institute for Strengthening Agriculture in Goiás – Ifag); Eduardo Alves and Edwal Freitas Portilho (Pro-Industrial Development Association of the State of Goiás – Adial); Aurélio Alyson Alves Resende (State Department of Development and Innovation); Eugênio Carlos Torres (Sanches Tripoloni Construction Company); Leandro Gondim (Fieg); Rafael Zanon (VLI Multimodal S.A); and Denimarcio Borges (City Hall of Rio Verde).
