Country ‘tears’ the sea with 340-meter underwater tunnels under the Atlantic to capture saltwater and build a megaproject capable of producing up to 100 million liters of drinking water per day in West Africa.
The compact semi-submersible accommodation vessel GranEnergia Olympia was previously selected by Equinor to provide accommodation and related services during the offshore execution phase of the second phase of Peregrino.
The Olympia flotel ended its contract with Petrobras at the end of 2018 and is currently moored at the Açu port and the maritime terminal in Brazil.
Peregrino, which has a production capacity of 100,000 barrels per day, is the largest offshore production field operated by Equinor outside Norway.
The $2.4 billion second phase development involves the addition of a third fixed well platform in 100 meters of water and will extend the productive life of Peregrino, adding 273 million barrels of recoverable reserves.
