Great Wall Motors, Chinese Automaker, Unveils Its New 6×6 Pickup Concept at the Shanghai Auto Show and Plans to Manufacture Its Vehicle for Sale in Brazil.
A Great Wall Motors (GWM) found a way to capture the attention of the media and the public at the Shanghai Auto Show. The Chinese automaker showcased its latest 6×6 pickup concept for the event, called the CyberP!ckup. Although it has a unique name inspired by the Tesla Cybertruck, the quirky vehicle is not fully electric.
Great Wall Motors’ 6×6 Pickup Features 510 Horsepower
The automaker opted for a powerful hybrid powertrain configuration instead of a fully electric system. The vehicle presented at the Shanghai Auto Show is not exactly new and is based on another truck from the brand, named Shanhai Cannon.
The model was modified in partnership with another Chinese company, Chaojing Motors. In addition to the extra wheels and axle, the pickup also became more robust, featuring items such as an enhanced suspension for off-road driving, Cooper Discoverer off-road tires, and new shock absorbers.

“Brazilian Elon Musk” unveils prototype of the Lecar 459, a car capable of running up to 1,000 km with a 165 hp electric motor and a hybrid system that dispenses with direct traction from the combustion engine.
Under its hood, there is a turbocharged V6 combustion engine and an electric powertrain that together provide the 6×6 pickup with a power output of 510 horsepower and 74.8 kgfm of maximum torque.
The truck is of the plug-in hybrid type, meaning it can be charged like a fully electric vehicle. Using only the battery, the Great Wall Motors model promises a range sufficient to travel about 50 km. The companies’ goal is to push the idea forward, transforming the concept presented at the Shanghai Auto Show into a production vehicle in China.
Unraveling the Curiosity: The New GWM 6×6 Pickup Inside
On the exterior, the Great Wall Motors 6×6 pickup features a front grille equipped with an LED strip, carbon fiber details on the hood, and smoked taillights.
Inside, the look is basically the same as the model that served as the base and does not present many novelties. So far, no new details have been released about the concept presented at the Shanghai Auto Show regarding performance numbers, price expectations, and battery capacity.

It is worth noting that in addition to Great Wall Motors, Hennessey, a car manufacturer in Texas, introduced a pickup called the Mammoth 1000 6×6 TRX in 2022 and only produced 12 units. The super pickup boasts over 1000 horsepower and measures over 7 meters in length.
With approximately 2 meters in height and 2.23 meters in width, the giant 6×6 pickup surpasses regular cars and even trucks. Compared to the RAM TRX, the Mammoth delivers 300 more horsepower. The torque necessary to propel this monstrous pickup has also been enhanced, totaling 1,314 Nm after a boost of 433 Nm by Hennessey.
Get to Know GWM Better
Great Wall Motors (GWM) is still a relatively unknown name here. However, the Chinese automaker, which started airing its first commercial on TV in January, has a long-standing connection to Brazil. In fact, the company has been trying to establish operations here since 2012.
The aim was to start selling its cars in partnership with the Caoa Group. However, at that time the plan did not materialize, delaying its official arrival in the country for many years.
Fast forward to August 2021, the company finally decided to purchase the former Mercedes Benz factory in Iracemápolis, São Paulo. Some time later, an investment of R$ 10 billion in Brazil was announced, including plans to produce electric cars in the country.
