Company Signs Agreement to Install Three Solar Plants with a Capacity of 16.93 MWp for Prime Energy in Different States.
GreenYellow confirmed the establishment of a new agreement with the trader Prime Energy, part of the Shell Group, for the construction of more solar plants in the country. The contract provides for the construction of three solar plants, totaling 16.93 MWp of installed capacity, which will be installed in the states of São Paulo and Piauí. The companies already had a contract for the supply of four solar plants, totaling 26.39 MWp, distributed across Bahia, Piauí, and Ceará.
The new solar plants will be intended for distributed generation and are aligned with Prime Energy’s goal of operating 100 MWp by the end of 2024. The supply of solar plants has been expanding every year, driven by the growing demand for renewable energy sources, and GreenYellow is at the forefront of this expanding market, seeking to provide sustainable solutions for the country’s energy needs.
Prime Energy Expands Its Supply of Solar Plants
Two new solar plants will be built in the state of Piauí, increasing the installed capacity of Prime Energy. One of the plants will be installed in the municipality of Castelo do Piauí, with a capacity of 6.80 MWp, while the other will be located in Lagoa do Piauí, with a capacity of 6.74 MWp. Both units will be within the coverage area of Equatorial PI.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.

Africa has about 500,000 cell towers and most still burn diesel to operate, while companies rush to cover antennas with solar energy and avoid signal blackouts.

Farmers swapped diesel for solar panels in Pakistan, powered irrigation pumps almost cost-free, expanded rice fields, and now groundwater has become a red alert in the countryside.

Migrant workers left the world’s largest renewable energy park in India after extreme heat, 12-hour shifts, delayed wages, and poor accommodations at a site that still promises to supply 18 million homes.
Additionally, a third plant was announced to be built in the city of Birigui, in the state of São Paulo. This plant will have an installed capacity of 3.39 MWp and will be located in the region served by CPFL Paulista.
Agreement for Expansion of Distributed Generation Capacity
With the aim of increasing its presence in the distributed generation (DG) market, Prime Energy plans to operate 100 MWp of Decentralized Generation by 2024. This move is expected to position the company as one of the main players in Shared DG in Brazil, operating in 14 concessions across the country.
Impact of Expansion on Solar Energy Supply
With the expansion of its operations, Prime Energy reinforces its commitment to the supply of solar plants and its contribution to increasing the capacity of solar photovoltaic energy generation in Brazil. These advances are also aligned with the company’s strategy to expand its operations in different Brazilian states, strengthening its presence in strategic regions for the solar energy sector.
Guilherme Perdigão, CEO of Prime Energy, emphasized the importance of these projects for the company and highlighted that the expansion of installed capacity will be essential to meet the growing demand for solar energy throughout the country. Furthermore, he stressed Prime Energy’s role as one of the leading companies in the sector, alongside partners such as Green Yellow and Shell, who have contributed to driving the growth of solar energy in Brazil. With the expansion of its operations, Prime Energy is reaffirming its commitment to promoting the transition to a more sustainable and diversified energy matrix.
