Arval Launches Free Guide for Electric Car Drivers, Promoting Sustainable Mobility and Energy Alternatives in the Brazilian Market.

Arval introduces a free publication aimed at electric car drivers. This resource primarily aims to assist drivers in preserving their vehicles’ batteries and providing valuable tips for everyday use. In this way, Arval reinforces its commitment to promoting valuable information about the energy transition for individuals and organizations while encouraging the conscious and sustainable use of electric cars.

In the global context, electric vehicles, also known as EVs, are progressively becoming the preference among drivers and manufacturers, reflecting a significant shift in market demands. They not only offer a sustainable alternative to conventional transportation but also define the future landscape of urban mobility. Given this growth, it is vital for companies to invest in sustainable knowledge and practices. The era of fossil fuels is making way for new forms of movement that combine energy efficiency and respect for the environment.

Expansion of Fleets with Electric Cars

Recent data from the Fleet and Mobility Barometer of the Arval Mobility Observatory revealed that 10% of companies in Brazil have already incorporated alternative energy technologies into their fleets. These solutions range from PHEV, HEV to 100% BEV vehicles. Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular, and this transition is evident. The different options for alternative energy, such as PHEV (plug-in hybrids), HEV (which combine combustion engines and non-plug-in batteries), and 100% BEV (fully rechargeable), are increasingly accessible.

Evolution of Electric Vehicles in Brazil

According to the Arval Fleet and Mobility Barometer 2024, there are no significant differences between alternative energy types for passenger cars. However, the scenario is much more promising for light commercial vehicles (LCVs): 1 in 5 Brazilian companies are already using or intending to adopt 100% BEV and/or Fuel Cell (hydrogen-powered) vehicles in the next three years. Overall, EVs are gaining the trust of Brazilians. According to Anfavea, electric vehicles represented 1% of sales in 2023, totaling 19,310 units.

Sales Growth Prospects for EVs

For 2024, it is estimated that sales will reach 24,000 units, which would represent a margin of 1.04% of the total vehicles sold in the country. In this context, Arval, a specialist in sustainable mobility solutions from the BNP Paribas Group, launched the Guide for Electric Car Drivers. This guide, with accessible content and attractive design, aims to optimize the EV experience, highlighting topics such as battery specifications and charging.

Arval and Its Role in the Energy Transition

Arval strengthens its commitment to disseminating valuable information about the energy transition for drivers and companies. As a company dedicated to sustainable mobility solutions, its mission includes exploring all options to promote new forms of movement, with a focus on electric cars. ‘We want drivers to explore all the benefits of this technology, including zero CO2 emissions, nearly imperceptible noise, absence of smell and vibration, and ideal power for acceleration,’ says Julio Cesar Meneghini, marketing manager at Arval Brazil.

Guide to EV Charging and Driving

The Arval Guide is structured around three main axes: battery specifications, charging, and driving. The tips range from charging speed, influenced by factors such as battery capacity, charge state, and environmental conditions, to choosing the appropriate connectors for charging. For example, Type A connectors are recommended for slow home charging, while Type 2 connectors are used for moderate recharging.

Innovations in Charging Stations

Fast and ultra-fast charging options are also expanding, with powers ranging from 50 to 350 kW, and significantly reduced charging times. Sustainable mobility solutions do not stop there; Arval also addresses how to preserve battery autonomy and lifespan. Strategies include keeping the charge between 20% and 80% and adopting more frequent charging sessions, as well as using eco mode and regenerative charging to optimize efficiency.

Battery Care in Extreme Conditions

The battery of electric vehicles requires special attention in extreme temperatures. During cold weather, it is recommended to preheat the vehicle using power from the electrical grid, while in intense heat, it is better to park in the shade and avoid charging during these periods. These strategies not only help preserve battery capacity and lifespan but also direct improvements in sustainable mobility solutions. Finally, Arval, with its vast experience in full-service leasing for fleets, remains at the forefront of alternative energy technologies.

Arval: Leader in Mobility and Sustainability

With over 1.7 million vehicles under management by the end of 2023, Arval continues to stand out as one of the leading names in the fleet management sector, always promoting sustainable mobility solutions. Part of the Element-Arval Global Alliance, the company remains a global leader, operating in 56 countries and always seeking to expand the electric car market. Thus, distinguishing itself as an example of excellence and innovation.
