Seven-Seat SUV And Mid-Size Pickup Mark New Phase For Chinese Automaker, Debuting In The Non-Electric Segment In The Country
GWM announced on Wednesday (11) the arrival of its first exclusively diesel engine models in Brazil. The chosen ones for this debut are the Haval H9, seven-seat SUV, and the Poer P30 pickup, both manufactured in Iracemápolis (SP), where the company has maintained its national unit since 2021, according to the G1 website.
Both vehicles will be on display at the brand’s booth during the Festival Interlagos, an automotive event that took place from June 12 to 15 at the São Paulo racetrack, bringing together test drives, competitions, and launches from various automakers.
Haval H9 SUV: Space And Robustness For Seven Passengers
Designed to compete with models such as the Caoa Chery Tiggo 8, the Haval H9 is a large SUV that combines cutting-edge technology with a robust mechanical setup. Under the hood, it features a 2.4 Turbo Diesel engine, with 184 hp of power And 48.9 kgfm of torque, coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

New Phase Of Investments And Job Creation
The launches are part of GWM’s new expansion phase in the country. Following the announcement of an initial investment of R$ 4 billion, the automaker confirmed an additional R$ 6 billion to be invested between 2027 and 2032.
The announcement was made after a meeting between President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and GWM founder Jack Wey during an official visit to China.
The expectation is that the investments will raise the factory’s production capacity in Iracemápolis to up to 50,000 units per year, with 800 new jobs expected by the end of 2025. Initially, the plant will produce the new H9 and Poer P30 starting in August, expanding the brand’s presence in Brazil beyond electrified models.
