A New Cheap Motorcycle Arrives on the Market Promising Lots of Savings, Leaving Honda and Yamaha Behind. The New Motorcycle Priced at R$ 5,000 Caters to the Delivery Audience.
The Brazilian motorcycle market is about to witness a revolution with the launch of a new economical motorcycle that promises to surpass industry giants like Honda and Yamaha. With a price below R$ 6,000, this cheap motorcycle not only challenges the established brands with its competitive pricing but also impresses with exceptional performance, even outdoing established models like the Honda Pop.
The R$ 5,000 Motorcycle Already Sold Thousands of Units in January
The company responsible for the new cheap motorcycle is Mottu, a vehicle rental and logistics startup. The company was founded in 2020 with the mission of catering to the need for a simpler and more accessible motorcycle rental service.
Initially, Mottu purchased the Pop110i model directly from Honda. However, due to high demand, the company decided to develop its own R$ 5,000 motorcycle model. Mottu has emerged as a response to the growing demand for economical options in the motorcycle market.

New Cheap Motorcycle from Mottu Can Achieve up to 60 km/L
The new R$ 5,000 motorcycle, called Mottu Sport 110i, produced in Brazil by Dafra in Manaus, is an impressive example of accessible engineering. Equipped with a 109.7 cm³ engine, fuel injection, and a range of up to 65 km/L, the new cheap motorcycle offers exceptional performance at an affordable price.
Its drum brakes and basic design, very similar to the Honda Pop 110i, ensure a great, safe, and reliable riding experience. Its engine can deliver 8.3 horsepower at 7,350 RPM and 0.8 kgfm of torque at 4,500 RPM.
The engine of the R$ 5,000 motorcycle works in conjunction with a 4-speed manual transmission, a 10-liter gasoline tank, and, according to TVS information, can achieve a top speed of 90 km/h and a range of 650 km with a full tank.
According to a survey by Fenabrave, the new cheap motorcycle is in 6th position in the motorcycle registration rankings in the first half of 2024, falling behind only Honda models and ahead of Yamaha, which appears in 8th place with the FZ25.
Future of Mottu in the Brazilian Market
The motorcycle rental company raised US$ 50 million in September of last year, around R$ 250 million when converted to our currency.
The round was led by the American firm QED, which has previously invested in Brazilian companies like Creditas and Quinto Andar, and by Bicycle, marking the first investment from the manager developed by Marcelo Claure, former Softbank, in partnership with the Arab fund Mubadala.
It is also worth mentioning that Mottu already has over 48,000 rented motorcycles in Brazil and Mexico, and the new funds will help to expand green and black motorcycles to various other locations, increase operational investment, and attract a new customer profile.
