The Latest Announcement from Hyundai Is About an Electric SUV That Will Compete Directly with the HB20. Learn More!
Hyundai announced its latest launch in the electric car market: an affordable compact SUV aimed directly at competing with the HB20. With a starting price close to R$ 100,000, the South Korean manufacturer seeks to conquer a segment still little explored in the Brazilian market, according to the website Electric Car.
Development of the New Hyundai SUV
The new electric car from Hyundai will be an electric version of the Hyundai Casper, a small SUV known for its bold design and urban versatility. To increase interior space and battery capacity, the electric SUV will have a wheelbase extended by at least 25 cm, ensuring comfort and autonomy.
Based on the K1 platform, also used by other models from the brand, the model may borrow its mechanics from the Kia Ray EV, featuring an 86 hp motor and a 35.2 kWh battery. With an expected range of up to 320 km, Hyundai’s electric SUV could reach Europe costing around 20,000 euros, becoming a more accessible option in the European market.

Despite Hyundai’s interest in offering an affordable electric car, the chances of the vehicle reaching Brazil are still remote due to the tax and logistical scenario.
