Cars are undeniably a global passion, with numerous automakers offering a wide range of models that have captured the public’s heart. This launch from Hyundai is yet another example of how the brand continues to innovate and capture the attention of automotive enthusiasts.

The automaker has launched a new budget car, a compact SUV with an astonishing price revealed at less than R$ 40 thousand, leaving its rivals, especially Renault, terrified, as the model promises to annihilate the brand. This is a launch by the South Korean company in India, where the automaker has officially introduced its new compact SUV named Exter.
Hyundai’s budget car is compact and has been announced to be smaller than the HB20; however, it has dimensions close to those of the old HB20X, which was discontinued a few years ago in Brazil.

The rival to Renault’s models, which meets the requirements of a passenger car and delivers an adventurous style, features a robust look despite its size. It measures 3.81 m in length, 1.71 m in width, and 1.63 m in height, with a wheelbase of 2.45 m and ground clearance of 18.5 cm.
To give you an idea, the new car from the brand is 17 cm shorter, 2 cm narrower, 5 cm taller, with a wheelbase 9 cm shorter and has a ground clearance that is 3.6 cm lower than its rival Citroën C3.
How Much Will Hyundai’s New Budget Car Cost?
In the Indian market, Hyundai’s new budget car, which promises to take down Renault’s sales, is being sold starting at 600,000 Indian rupees. This is about R$ 36 thousand in direct conversion without taxes into Brazilian real. However, there are no forecasts yet as to when the model may arrive in the national market, nor whether its price will remain close to the conversion amount. Thus, the launch of Hyundai’s new budget car promises to completely surpass Renault, annihilating it entirely.
The model is built on the same platform as the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. Hence, its engine is a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter four-cylinder, producing 95 horsepower and 11.6 kgfm of torque. There is also an option for a 5-speed automatic or manual transmission.
Finally, it is important to emphasize that the SUV model, which is already a favorite of the automaker, will be available in 5 versions, namely: EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX (O) Connect. The name of the car may appear right below the hood line, spanning from one end to the other.
Hyundai Will Have Compact Electric Car Priced Like HB20
Hyundai also does not want to miss out on the market for affordable electric cars. Thus, the brand is already testing a small electric SUV that will have a starting price close to the equivalent of R$ 100,000, the price of the BYD Dolphin Mini. However, the chances of it coming to Brazil are slim.
This new model would be the electric version of the Casper, a small SUV comparable in size to a Fiat Mobi that only uses 1.0 engines, either naturally aspirated with 76 horsepower or turbocharged with 100 horsepower. The electric version will also have an extended version with at least 25 cm more in wheelbase, which originally has a mere 2.40 m to increase leg space and accommodate the battery, which will be located under the floor.
